Hello All!
Ellie has a gun guys!!! The scene where she used it brought me to tears. Seeing Joel unsure and upset about it hurt my heart too. I can see these guys growing so much closer now & it warms my heart. I'm sure its difficult for Joel due to the loss of Sarah & it'll be difficult for Ellie due to her not having a relationship with her parents & being dragged about now with the Fireflies. This episode felt slower than the others but it did have a lot of introductions & setup in it so was another solid episode. Bring on ep 5 :)

Oh, and you asked about Kathleen's militia group (do they have a name?), where did they get all those guns? It's America, Lass. According to the American Gun Facts website, for 2023, 46% of households own guns. Total is around 466 million with something like 98% being in civilian hands. There ain't no shortage of boom sticks in the apocalypse. Ammo would be the real challenge.

When I saw Ellie put the pistol in her backpack in the previous episode, I had a hunch she would eventually use it for a good reason. That hunch was reinforced right off the bat in this episode when I saw how she was handling it in front of the mirror. It seemed apparent to me that she had some kind of familiarity with guns.
