Hello All!
I really enjoyed this episode guys as painful as it was. Seeing Buffy struggle is always hard though. Very emotional & seeing Spike struggle with his feelings too was so interesting to me. The scene at the end was so strong. Not many words spoken but the weight of it was heavy. JOYCE BETTER BE OKAY!
Have a lovely week everyone! Thank you for the constant love & support!
Much love
Dakara x

I love the fact that 1977 Spike got his image from Billy Idol in Generation X - underrated punk band from the early days. Such a great band.

This episode is in my top ten for the entire serie. The script is fantastic, the editing, that ending and of course the tour the tour the force performance by James Marsters. The first time I saw it I was shocked by the reveal of what William was as a human and somewhat by the end of the episode it seems perfectly obvious and in line with who he is now and James Marsters play all those aspects perfectly. Even without the flashbacks scenes he goes from cocky to heartbroken to angry when Buffy reject him using the same words as Cecily. And as a result we sympathize with him when we really shouldn’t. A few things you missed or misinterpreted in your review. Up until now we thought that Angelus was Spike’s sire, remember in School Hard, the episode he was introduced, Spike says about Angel “you were my sire, you were my Yoda”. We find out here that it was Drusilla that sired him and we find out why in the next episode of Angel. We still don’t know exactly when the accent change and calling himself Spike started but it was before he killed his first slayer, not after as you said. The scene when Angelus asks him about those changes, that’s when he warns him about the slayer.
