I find YaO abhorrent. Having many mates in the music industry I see just how damaging they are to the local scene. Not that long ago, I would be in the Gong every 3rd week or so to see gigs. Most tours covered Syd/Newie/Gong. These days, seasoned professionals won't touch it with a 10 ft pole and that speaks enough for me. Sadly, regional areas are so susceptible to this and by frith it makes my blood boil.

I first heard about it in a course on the Political Philosophy of Deception, in which Tony Abbott was a guest speaker.

Been reading George Orwell's 1984 again and this comment reminds me a lot of "big brother" trying to simplify language to remove the possibility of thought crime.
