The New Era Update (Patrons Only [Mild Spoilers])
🕑 Added 2024-06-07 12:49:49 +0000 UTCIt felt weird not posting here today, so I figured I would give you an update on how things are going with TNE and the publishing of TNT!
TNT's print-ready copy is coming along nicely. Cover art is still being worked on, and there's still some formatting adjustments I need to do. If I weren't also trying to publish The Human From a Dungeon simultaneously, I'd have it done by the end of next week. Unfortunately, THFD's cover is a lot more intricate than the one I have planned for TNT so it's taking some time to fully flesh out. If I don't hit any snags (like distributor issues), they will be ready for print and e-book by the end of the month.

As far as TNE goes, the storyboard is giving me a little trouble. There's a certain plotline that's becoming a bit convoluted, so I may scrap it. Sometimes you can pretzel a plot into working, but sometimes you have to throw it out and make way for something new that will work. It had a really cool setup and runup, so I might use that part later on. :)
At the moment, the storyboard is a little heavy on SSGT Power. I plan to dial that back a bit due to the critical feedback I got while writing The New Threat. I also need to dial back on a new enemy that will show up. It's always fun to play with new characters, but it's gotten a bit excessive. And yes, both of these things I need to dial back on conveniently tie into the pretzeled plot I mentioned earlier.
This will be the last Friday post until we're ready for The New Era to begin its run. I'm not going to rush it to the point of degrading the quality, but I am going to write as fast as I can :)

I’m not worried about convoluted plot lines as long as I don’t have to suffer through “ his fingers flied over the keyboard of the grim determination”, “ you are standing on the bridge of Indomitable, the biggest secret human supercarrier and he was ready to save the galaxy” and such lol. Very good coherent writing so far. Perhaps some intimate details ( having breakfast, non plot related conversations of the characters etc) would be a nice touch in humanizing the main actors as well as the props. I seen some of it already kudos👍

Part way through chapter 1 :) Editing TNT and THFD Act 1 is taking up most of my time, though lol

I don't mind the power scaling if it introduces new concepts about galactic power or being a next level Kardashev civilization that deepen the stakes.

First off sir, thank you for all you’ve written so far. You’ve built out a great universe filled with wonderful species. I’ve been vested since the lt rescued uleena and his crew. I always thought this was an AI driven story, sure you got main players but the AI rather it’s usai or ouai is main pro and antagonists. Either way it’s your story and I enjoy it very much. I look forward to the next book.
