Update 0.3.3p preview
🕑 Added 2024-03-09 00:21:24 +0000 UTCHello, because the update is delayed i figured it'll be a good idea to at least give you guys something took look forward to instead of just radio silents. so here is a preview of what's coming next update.
the main feature is going to be the hub area. this is a place where you are going to go to between runs. and from now on start the game in.
the main goal is to have two main areas to explore here, the shop and the "zoo" (i'll think of a better name for this)
the shop will turn this game from a roguelike to a roguelite. because we are going to be adding meta progression into the game. basically whenever you lose you will get some what i call "tokens" (again i will think of a better name). the amount of tokens you get will be scaled to the difficulty of enemy you lose to. you can spend these tokens to give you permanent buffs.
the second feature which may or may not be in this next update will be the "zoo" basically as you get transformed into these creatures. they will be added to this "zoo" which will give you some extra lore about the creatures and your fate post transformation. you can also track your progress to see which creatures you have yet to transform into yet.
again sorry about the delay and i hope this update will be worth the wait.

Thanks, honestly when designing this system the main consideration was to make sure the player actually engage with the main draw of this game. the token difficulty scaling hopefully incentivises actually getting far into the game while also setting up that transforming is actually a "good" thing. also thanks for the bug checking. i don't actually have anyone to playtest the game so any feedback i get on it is extremely helpful

Oh I'm excited for this. Seems like more of a payoff for getting the separate endings now. Can't wait to see what else is in store for the game. I'll also try to give more testing around for bugs. I'll message them to you if I find anything major. Regardless cheers on the update.
