I had a really hard time listening to this episode; so gruesome... i haven't been able to stop thinking about these poor people being cooked alive because of gross negligence and greed 😭
Monique
Good fucking god what the fuck
Swunkie
This episode really cooked. Sorry for the callous humor. I don't why I am drawn to this podcast.

Financial desperation can do a lot to people. I can’t judge them not knowing their situations.

God, I've worked around large commercial ovens for years, and I just knew this was going to be rough to listen to.

One of your best bonus episodes. Haunting. My first thought in the first story was that they had to make up for the time the oven was going to be down. Decisions like this in this society--and the subsequent "but the pay will be good" to go into an OVEN--is why I don't root for the humans.

I afraid to listen

I knew this wasn't gonna be good the second I heard the word "oven." Oy, what a horrific ending for these poor people. Damned greedy corporations literally get away with murder again and again. 🤬 I guess it's somewhat of a relief to know at least they aren't always American corporations. (For a change.)

My memory is trash but the tuna story and every detail of it has stuck with me since it happened. Always remember that your employer sees you as nothing more than a cell on a spreadsheet.

Sheesh. Never thought about getting cooked to death, that sounds absolutely brutal.
James Watson
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If people die in a horrific workplace accident as a result of serious negligence, and nobody goes to jail for it, then justice hasn’t been done. Fines are not justice. They are the cost of doing business.
Maricela !!
Wtf 😭 this one is gonna keep me up tonight
AR
Unbelievable that Bumblebee got fined basically nothing for cooking a man to death but $25 million for price-fixing. This country.
Josh Acton
I know another story waaay worse about people going into industrial ovens...but these are still super fucked up. You're going to slap that dope ass bee onto some merch right ACC? At least a decal?
Austen Lockwood
Duuuude.
Tulloch
They were all horrific but the first one on the conveyor is particularly disturbing.
Dani Whitaker
Agreed. I've listened to every episode and this one is the one that had me clutching my pearls. So tragic.
Camryn Berk
Fuck, this one was particularly rough.
Kate Bryant
That bee is going to haunt my dreams.
Jenn Eiland
Well that's gonna be a new series of horrific mental images for that song...
baidarka
the pyranha incident is well known among whitewater paddlers as a total fucking nightmare scenario in a sport full of total fucking nightmare scenarios
Nathan Hamler
I'm kinda bummed this isn't a public episode. This is the kind of episode that could 1000% save lives. I work in industrial environments and lock out/tag out procedures are a thing for a reason, but many times people don't, to save time or paperwork. More people need to hear these stories.
Gina Uybungco
What in the actual fuuuccck! 😳 Brutal! That's just awful!
