Hey, everyone. Started back up on sketching from anatomy/angle photos (pictured above). I’m doing them as warmups before I start working for the day. Probably would do them on streaming days but I’m not sure if people would want to watch that or how I would even set it up.
So, I've been mulling it over and I still want to catch up on some things before I move forward. I spoke with my therapist yesterday morning and, well, I finally talked about this as being part of my daily life.
It's weird. I always wanted to ask other artists what it's like for them doing this sort of thing. How much is it tucked away from the people in their personal life. Kind of like a Bruce Wayne\Batman kind of thing. So, to talk to someone not in that sort of field was awkward. Other than that, the session went well. The session wound up going waaay past the usual time, but I actually felt better after my visit. I spoke with her about what I have on my plate and she suggested I tweak a few things to keep myself running more efficiently without an overly stressful workload.
Currently, online math courses, Japanese language courses, physical world work, my own health (i.e. gym/walks), and then my art here. Add in sleep, eating, and spending some time with my wife and our dog and there doesn't feel like there's enough hours in the day.
My therapist suggested that I put something on the shelf, not necessarily give up on something but put it away until I can comfortably give myself more time for it. It's hard but I think it’s going to have to be Japanese. I've been trying to learn it for a few years now, but it can really wait. I'm taking math courses as part of prep for entry into a game design college so that can't wait if I want to get the ball rolling on that. Work is hectic and I'm really starting to hate it, but it pays the bills and it's not like I can just stop working. I've been doing basic exercise every day to get back in shape and I'm really trying to stick with that. For my art? When I say I want to catch up I don't mean on everything I've touched in the past 5 years but the ones I felt a little attached to.
So, what does all that mean for me and what I have as a plan for posting?
I think I’m a far ways off from daily posting and even that sounds like it’d get cluttered very quickly. I’m debating three to four mass posts a month. The first would be what’s planned for the month, the second would be the linework, the third would be the colors, and the fourth would be the alts. Older works would be sprinkled in throughout the posts.
This month is already a little messed up, date wise. I’m thinking the 16th, the 22nd, and the 29th.
