An Unwilling Training Partner
Part 1
“Leave me alone Ace, I’m trying to beat the final boss!”
Kit tried to bat away the curious hands of the toddler that had waddled up to him in the living room. He’d been carefully managing his HP and MP for this fight, making sure he was fully focussed on the task at hand. He had this weekend and only this weekend to do it before his final year of high school started again next week, but of course his aunt and uncle had come to visit.
And with them they’d bought their three year old.
“But I wanna plaaaaaaaay!” Ace complained, jackalopes arms crossing and a pout appearing on his face “Mom said you have to play with me!”
A few more minutes passed, the teenage raccoon getting past the second stage of the boss. That was the easy part, he just had to keep himself focussed and ignore the prodding of the toddler behind him.
“Kiiit I gotta…”
“Ace, leave me alone!” Kit shuffled his shoulders to shake off the little bunny’s hand, eliciting another groan of frustration.
“But I rea…'' the bunny trailed off, Kit giving it no mind as he cast the necessary spells to deal as much damage as he could.
“Nooo…”
Kit groaned and desperately tried to ignore the jackalope. He was so close he…
His nose started to detect something, his muzzle curling as the smell intensified. It smelled like…
“Oh Kit, why didn’t you take Ace to the potty!”
He looked to the side for a brief moment as he heard his mothers voice at the doorway. In that small amount of time the huge figure of the boss slammed his sword down on top of Kit’s player character, crushing him into nothing.
“GAME OVER!”
Kit stood up “No! I’ve been trying to do that for an hour!”
“You were supposed to be keeping an eye on Ace!” His mother picked up the bunny, his eyes closed and his fists clenched “He’s still potty training! He needs someone to… Oh Ace, I’m sorry”
“It’s not that freaking hard to go to the bathroom mom!” Kit managed to resist cursing, just about saving himself from losing his consoles.
“You were a nightmare at his age!” She started to carry out the bunny, carefully avoiding making the situation worse by bouncing him too much “Correction, you’re still a nightmare…”
“Oh come on, he’s not even trying! He didn’t even try to tell me!”
Ace’s eyes went wide as he looked back “I did too!”
“Did not!”
“I DIIIIIIID!” Ace wailed, his eyes immediately drowning in tears of frustration “YOU’RE LYINNNN”
Kit's mom arrived back at the door to the lounge, giving Kit a stern stare “Did he ask, Kit?”
The racoon nervously shuffled “I… I don’t think so!”
HIs mother looked entirely unconvinced “That’s not a no” her muzzle curled up as she adjusted Ace on her arm “Honestly… sometimes I think it would be easier to change your diapers again than deal with you now”
Kit blushed at the humiliating suggestion before he raised his guard again “Yeah well, you’ve got one to change now anyway…”
His mother just shook her head and left him alone in the room. He went back to his console and booted the game back up again. One more try before dinner…

“Oh Faye, I’m sorry. I’ll change Ace, he’s…”
“Julia, this is Kit’s fault.” she replied as her sister followed her to the guest bedroom they’d prepared “Ace asked and he didn’t take him.”
Julia sighed “Well… that makes me feel a little better. It’s ok baby, I know you tried” she ruffled Ace’s headfur, the toddler still sobbing a little from Kits accusation.
“He wouldn’t play with me…” Ace sniffed, clearly hurt by the racoon's lack of interest.
Julia picked up Ace’s diaper bag from just inside the door and handed Faye a disposable changing mat. She laid it out on the bed and put Ace on top of it, carefully removing his shorts and checking the damage.
“He leaked a little, but not too much. They’ll need to go in the washer.” Faye said, putting them to one side “Does he have any more pull-ups?”
The jackalope mother sighed and shook her head “He does, but we have a rule. Pull-ups if he’s dry, diapers if he’s not.”
Ace sniffled and looked up at Faye, as if hoping his aunt would give him some reprieve “Oh… well, I guess I’ll pop him in those then…”
Julia handed one over, letting Faye take command of changing the little jackalope “It’s a shame, Kit could’ve taken him and we wouldn’t be doing this…”
“We could keep the potty in the living room? Bit riskier with the carpet but…”
Faye shook her head “Not a good plan anyway, better to teach Ace to head to the bathroom when he needs to…”
Her eyes went wide for a brief moment, her hands taping Ace’s diaper on in autopilot mode as thoughts started to converge in her head from the last ten minutes of events.
“Julia, what size do pull-ups go up to now?”
*************************************************************************************************************
“You can’t be serious?!” Kit stood up from the couch and started walking towards the lounge door “What the hell Mom?!”
Faye moved into the room holding the plastic package she’d just brought back from the store in front of her and intercepted the raccoon before he could leave “I am very serious. Kit, we asked you to do one thing and you couldn’t manage it. But we can’t just leave Ace to his own devices in the kitchen or the guest room. So we need you to supervise.”
Kit visibly grimaced, his face going bright red. His mother was holding a package of “Teddies Trainers! Size 7T” in front of him. The teddy bear on the front was smiling, holding up the package while showing off the thick cotton trainers in his paws, decorated with little paw prints. Aside from being nearly three times the size of Ace’s trainers they were exactly the same.
“I was doing fine until…”
“Until Ace needed the potty, and you didn’t take him,” Julia interrupted. “So we’ve found a compromise. Ace goes with you to the potty.”
His fists balled up “That’s… that’s ridiculous! What’s he gonna learn from me going…”
“He’ll follow you, that’s a start” Faye started moving back towards the couch, forcing Kit to walk backwards “Jackalope see, jackalope do”
“But he’ll see me pulling down my underwear!”
“Your pull-ups” Faye corrected pointing back at the package on the couch “Exactly like he should be doing”
The raccoon tried to push past his mother but found Julia waiting for him directly behind her “This isn’t up for debate Kit. You didn’t keep your end of the bargain and this is how we’re solving it. You could’ve avoided it by just taking Ace earlier”
“I’m not going to wear diapers!” he shouted back “This is so stupid!”
“You’re not going to be wearing a diaper Kit, these are training pants” Faye smirked, deliberately giving off the look of a know-it-all “Babies wear diapers, these are for big kids. You’re a big kid right?”
Julia giggled “That’s a bit harsh Faye, Ace is in diapers right now and he’s normally a big kid. At least when adults are around”
Kit was fuming, his muzzle curling up at the teasing he was receiving from his aunt and mother “I won’t. Wear. Pull-ups!”
“We did buy these as well, just in case you said that” Julia bent down to the bags they’d brought in with them and picked out a second package. The bright plastic matched those of the pull-ups but everything about it was far more babyish, the colors brighter but the same cartoon teddy bear emblazoned on the front.
“Teddies for Teens! Size 9”
“No way…” Kit stood gobsmacked at what was in front of him “You didn’t buy…”
“Yup” Faye said matter of factly “Those are diapers, in your size. We’re serious here Kit, we’re not messing around. There’s a receipt with them in the bag, so we’ll take them back if you behave, but if you keep acting like you are now, these are your underwear for the weekend.”
Ace had been hiding behind the two women the whole time, the shouting coming from his cousin clearly making him nervous. But the mention of Kit having to wear diapers suddenly made a smile come to his face.
“Would that make me the big kid Mommy?”
“You’re not the big kid Ace” Kit growled, barely keeping down a shout
Julia bent down, setting the huge diapers next to Ace, who looked at them like they were some kind of magical item. “Tell you what, if Kit doesn’t wear his pull-ups like a big boy, then you get to be the big kid this weekend. You get to tell us when Kit needs the potty and we’ll take him.”
“WHAT?!” Kit blurted out “You can’t! That’s humiliating!”
Faye shoved the pull-ups into his arms, the raccoon just about holding onto them before they fell to the ground “Then I guess you’d better get changed hadn’t you? Or do you need us to explain how to do that too?”
The raccoon's muzzle started moving up and down, but no more words were coming. He could tell he was now fighting a losing battle, the two women in front of him weren’t going to take no for an answer and the alternative was apparently to just completely abandon his dignity for an entire weekend.
That wasn’t going to happen.
“Fine” He put the package under his arm “I’ll go to my room”
Faye nodded and patted his head “Good boy” her arm was pushed away as the raccoon moved past his family and up the stairs to his bedroom. They heard the door slam and looked at each other, their shoulders relaxing.
“That went better than expected” Faye sighed “Hopefully that’s the last argument we’ll have this weekend.”
Julia just shook her head “I hope so. What happened to the Kit that loved his plush toys? I used to buy him all sorts. Foxes, bunnies, tanuki’s…”
“He still has them somewhere. He outgrew them really, but they’re still in his room under his bed I think”
Ace looked up at the two of them “Kit has plushies?! Can I see?!” he asked excitedly.
Faye chuckled “Sure, let’s go up and check on him. Gotta make sure he’s got his pull-ups on right don’t we Ace?”
“Yeah!”
*************************************************************************************************************
Kit threw the package of training pants on the bed and resisted the urge to cuss.
“This is so stupid” he muttered to himself, walking towards the discarded package and looking down at it. The teddy bear on the front seemed positively ecstatic, like this was the greatest event of his life. Maybe for a toddler this really was an amazing achievement, but for Kit this was one of the most humiliating things he’d ever have to do.
He pulled down his pants and boxers and breathed deeply, trying to calm his anger as he opened up the pack. As the tension of the plastic was released, the first of the offending undergarments popped free and hung out the side, as if inviting the raccoon to take it out and get it over with.
“Urrghhh…” he groaned as he pulled it free and gave it a quick look. There was a line of paw prints down the front, clearly “fade when wet” designs typical of trainers, while the Teddy from the package was on the front of it just above them in a superhero pose. He was showing off his pull-ups, clearly proud to be in them. Kit managed to work out what was the front and what was the back, shaking his head the whole time as he worked his first leg into the right hole and then his second. The soft cotton of the sides stretched as he pulled them up his thighs, but they held firm until they reached his thinner hips, settling neatly and, Kit had to admit to himself, very comfortably around his waist. Even the thicker cotton center was surprisingly well fitted, his hands instinctively adjusting it around his thighs and shuffling the front to get things better positioned inside, as he would with his briefs.
“You ok in there hun? Don’t need any help?” The voice of his mother came through the door and immediately put Kit back on high alert
“N…No! Go away!”
“You’ve got them on, right?” Faye asked “If I come in and find you still in your undies I’ll change you into them myself!”
“MOM! I’M WEARING THEM FOR…”
The door opened as Kit turned to face it, his aunt, cousin and mother all looking in through the doorway.
“Oh my gosh, he looks adorable in them!” Julia cooed, a little smirk on her face “Goodness Faye, maybe you should’ve done this earlier…”
Kit blushed furiously, his hands covering his front “Get out of my room! Mom please…”
Noticing her son's discomfort, Faye walked forward and gave him a hug, the raccoon totally unable to stop her as he froze in place “Sweetie, it’s ok. I’m glad you got them on like a big boy and didn’t need…” she stopped and looked down past his shoulder.
“Oh that is…” she giggled, unable to stop herself “Kit, you forgot to thread your tail through”
He looked back and gasped as he realized. He’d barely had time to sort that before his mother had come in.
“You.. you interrupted me! I’d have done it if…”
“Goodness, even Ace can manage to do that after he’s gone potty. Maybe he needed help after all Faye” Julia was now giggling too, Ace watching the whole thing from her arms with a huge smile behind his pacifier.
“I…” Kit started but felt his mothers hand pull his huge tail through the back of trainers, eliciting a sudden gasp instead.
“There, all ready for potty training!” She winked at him, her son now suitably shocked into submission.
Julia walked in and stood next to her sister as she released Kit from the hug “Kit, before you have another… tantrum” she smiled “I just want you to know this will really help Ace, ok? Besides… you got yourself into this”
With the two women in front of him and nowhere more private to go, Kit could only grit his teeth and whine.
“So is Kit gonna be going potty now, like me?” Ace asked, looking at Kit with wide eyes, focussed on the training pants around his waist.
“He was always going potty sweetie, but now you get to go with him and see how it’s done!” Julia bent down and ruffled his head fur.
“Kit, you’re to keep Ace with you at all times. Do you understand?” Faye gave her son a stern look.
“Yes mom” he shuffled in place “Can… Can I just play games now? Please?”
“Of course sweetie, go play your video games. Take Ace with you”
The jackalope child grabbed Kits hand and pulled him away from the mothers “Yeah! Let’s go play!”
Before he could object, Kit was being dragged down the stairs and into the lounge.
*************************************************************************************************************
It only took thirty minutes for Kit to get bored of humoring Ace. Initially he’d been happy to just try and get over what had happened in his bedroom, letting the jackalope drag him through some co-op platformers he hadn’t played in years.
“I’m gonna play some more Wizards and Wyverns”
“But that’s a dumb game!” Ace responded “I wanna play this!”
Kit just reset the console and put in the disc “Deal with it”
Ace pouted back, crossing his arms again “No fair! I’m gonna go get Mommy!”
“Urrghhh…” Kit groaned. Then, a lightbulb “Ok, I’ll make a deal. I have ONE go at this boss, then we can go back to Double Doggies… Sounds good?”
The jackalope thought for a second, stopping his charge towards the door “Ok! But you have to promise!”
Kit stood up and went back to the couch, grimacing again as he sat down on the cotton of the trainers “Promise, now get back here alright”
The jackalope hopped back onto the couch and shuffled next to his cousin as he loaded up the game, once again giving the boss he’d tried so hard to beat another go. He set up his spells, getting ready for the start of the fight, before entering it, ready as ever.
“Gonna beat ya this time…” he muttered to himself. A small twinge from his bladder made itself known, but he paid it no heed. He’d be through this in a half hour or so and could sort that out then.
Ace cuddled into his cousin and lay on his leg. He watched the screen intently, putting his thumb in his mouth while Kit focussed on the game.
Fifteen minutes later, Kit was in the final phase. Everything was going great, he was on the best run so far. The pressure in his bladder had increased, but he ignored it again. His legs started to shake, knocking Ace a bit and forcing the jackalope off of him.
“Hey… I just wanted to…” Ace looked at Kit's legs, his toddler mind immediately making the obvious connection “Kit, you gotta go potty!”
“Ace, I’ll do it after this alright.” He pressed on, focussing as hard as he could. His bladder ached, distracting him a little but not enough to draw him away from the game.
“Kit, you’re gonna pee your trainers!” Ace started to shake his arm “Come ooooon!”
Kit didn’t care, he could see the last bit of the health bar going down… before it finally reached 0.
“YES! I DID IT!”
The raccoon jumped off the couch, his arms up with glee. But almost as soon as that happiness spread across his muzzle, a different feeling started making its way around his crotch. A warmth, unsettling and distinctly unwelcome.
“You’re havin an accident!” Ace cried, running for the door “Mom! Kit didn’t go…”
“Wa.. wait!” Kit tried to stop the flow, but the soda he’d had earlier in the day was in no mood to stop coming out. Before Ace could make it to the door, Faye arrived to greet him, Julia following in quick succession.
“Ace honey, use your inside voice” Julia reminded the jackalope “You don’t need to…”
“KIT HAD AN ACCIDENT MOMMY!”
The two women looked at the raccoon, his legs pulled inwards and his tail coming through his legs to cover the front of the trainers. He looked exactly like a toddler, embarrassed and hiding from the eyes of his parents.
“Kit, come here. Now” Faye commanded. Kit shook his head, desperate to avoid moving as the flow of pee stopped.
“Fine” she walked into the room and marched towards him. Still frozen in place, he was unable to stop his mother pulling his tail aside so she could see the front of his trainers. Sure enough, the designs were gone, the front swollen to capacity and the leak guards drooping away from his thighs.
“Whoa…” she recoiled a little “You really did huh…”
Kit felt tears come to his eyes. Humiliation started taking over every other emotion, unable to hide this from his younger cousin and aunt any longer.
“I… I…”
Before he could say anymore, Faye brought him into another hug “It’s ok. It’s ok. Accidents happen”
Julia picked Ace back up “Do you need to go potty Ace?”
“Uh-huh!” he looked back towards Kit “I told Kit to go potty too, but..”
Faye's face dropped “Is that true? Did Ace try to get you to go?”
His ability to think of a lie, or even a rebuttal, totally spent from embarrassment Kit simply slowly nodded.
“Well… Julia, take Ace to the potty. I need to have a word with my baby boy”
