The playpen was filled with a variety of fun looking, bright toys. Nothing that would be out of the ordinary in a kids toy box, things ranging from plushes to little plastic rattles. Rye waddled over to it, clambering over the small sides and grabbing a rattle.
“Here, try shaking this! It makes the best noise!”
Jimmy sighed and accepted the oversized baby toy from Rye. He gave it a short shake, the rattling noise of the little plastic balls inside ringing in his ears.
“Wow that was… loud” he grimaced, climbing in behind Rye and following him to the back of the room. The raccoon was now crawling over to the green deer plush that had been left behind after Rye’s feeding, grabbing it and giving it a big hug.
“This is my favorite toy, he’s with me all the time.” he explained, his thumb going to his mouth as he splayed out his legs to let his diaper poof out between the leg guards of his onesie “He’s called Lundo! Daddy found him in the shop down the street”
Jimmy gave the plush a quick look. Its large black eyes shone despite the depth of the black. It was a little creepy, if also pretty cute in the hands of the adorably large raccoon.
“Hi Lundo!” Jimmy patted him on the head “Nice to meet you”
Rye pulled the plush closer and hugged him. His eyes went wide a little before he looked at the deer again and put his ear to its mouth.
“He says you’re really good at playing pretend!”
Jimmy raised his eyebrows “What? I’m not playing pretend”
Rye giggled “Yeah! Like, Daddy is big but you’re not! You’re just pretending to be big.”
The wolf laughed “Well… your Dad is big Rye but I’m the babysitter for the evening. That makes me bigger than you!”
Rye simply lay on his back and pulled his legs into the air with his hands, leaving Lundo to one side “I dun like that… I wanna playmate!”
“A playmate?” Jimmy walked over and bent down “What, like get another baby friend of yours to…”
“No! You be my playmate!”
Jimmy chuckled “I mean, I can play with you Rye but…”
“Yay!” the raccoon leant over and pulled Jimmy over to him, hugging him into his tummy “What do ya wanna play?!”
Jimmy gasped for breath “Ahhh… We… we could… play…” he tried to think of anything “Pattycake?”
Rye let him go and grinned “Yay! I love that!” he switched to a seated position, putting his knees out in front of him “My legs make the best noises when I play with Daddy”
Recovering from the sudden lack of air, Jimmy rolled off his back and up into the same crouching position, looking across at the raccoon and giving him a smile.
“So… clap, one hand, clap, knees…”
“I know how to play Pattycake!” Rye clapped his hands together and then proceeded to do the whole motion in front of him “See!”
Jimmy chuckled, holding his hands out ready to start “Right… go!”
For the next few minutes the sound of clapping hands filled the playroom. Jimmy and Rye were keeping rhythm easily at first, Rye’s big hands giving Jimmy an easy target to hit each time. The wolf found himself laughing along, not noticing the small changes that were starting to take hold. His fingers began to pudge, widening to match those of the raccoon as they both continued to play. His arms gained width, more fat emerging with every rhythmic collusion. Rye similarly didn’t notice himself getting smaller, matching Jimmy for height by the end even if his body continued to be a big round ball of fluffy smiles.
“You’re good at this!” Jimmy said, his eyes focussing on Rye’s as he started to speed up.
“Yeah! Daddy says so too!”
Jimmy's tummy started to bulge out the front of his polo shirt and over the top of his jeans, the button at the front popping off onto the floor. Rye giggled as he saw it happen, his new friend growing bigger in front of him even as he was getting smaller.
“Wait… Are you…” Jimmy started to notice his hands were slowly adjusting to the changing height of his charge. A steady realization came over his face as well as he saw the pudge starting to gather round his fingers, matching Rye’s for width as the two continued to clap together.
“What the…!” Jimmy bounced up onto his feet, immediately falling back down onto his newly huge butt, much to the delight of the raccoon across from him.
“I win! You’re really good at that game!” Rye bounced around, pulling his feet up and down like a toddler rocking for stimulation
“Rye! I’m getting… getting…” his head started to swim. Everything around him felt like it was getting foggier, heavier. The room started spinning, every movement he made felt like it took three times as much effort as he was expecting. Sounds slurred as they made their way to his brain, the noises coming from his mouth totally incomprehensible but increasing in their frequency. A child's voice, one that could barely have just learned to talk, started to speak inside his head.
This is fun! Pattycake is the best!
Jimmy clapped his hands together as if responding directly to the voice. A huge grin appeared on his muzzle for the briefest of moments before he seemed to shake back to reality,
Rye’s my best friend in the whole world! He’s a big baby, just like me!
“Like… me?” Jimmy felt his tongue catch in his mouth as he said the words out loud, his hands continuing to move against his will in the pattycake pattern even though Rye had long since stopped playing. The raccoon was now on his back, staring at the ceiling with his thumb in his mouth as he listened to his babysitter trying to control himself.
Rye’s Daddy is so cool! I bet he’d be super fun to play with!
Meanwhile, Rye was crawling back to the rattle he’d given to Jimmy before the wolf had abandoned it. He shook it, the noise from it traveling around the room. Jimmy focussed on it, the noise bouncing around in his head, his brain finding it one small bright light in amongst the haze.
“Ra… rattle”
“You want the rattle?” Rye crawled over and handed it to Jimmy “I dun like it much, so you can have it!”
The wolf’s eyes glazed over as he reached out to take the toy. Its top felt so much heavier with his now smaller and larger arms. He struggled to keep it stable, its insides ringing with every slight movement as he felt himself start to fall backwards onto the carpeted floor of the playpen.
“A… a buh!”
Rye clapped his hands and grinned “Yay! No more playing pretend!”
Jimmy could only look up at the ceiling as he heard his charge move around him. His arms felt like they were made of dough, a soft but heavy feeling from each of them as they passed over his now incredibly large chest. Even through the haze he could tell something else was very wrong with that.
He could see his chest. His shirt was gone.
Whatever was happening it was happening fast. His mind tried to wrap itself around the changes, trying to work out what to do to halt it, or to at least get himself back up straight so he could see what Rye was doing. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t even lift his head. He assumed that the pudge that was now newly covering the rest of his body was also starting to gather around his cheeks, but in his delirious state he couldn’t even be sure of that.
“You were right, Lundo, he was just playing pretend! But now we get to play together!”
Jimmy felt his legs being steadily pushed apart by something. A pillow maybe? A cushion from the sofa? He couldn’t lift his head up to check. His arms slowly moved in front of his head, their now uncovered fur brushing against his cheeks. He realized his toes weren’t covered either as they started to jiggle with no socks to keep them warm. The soft carpet was touching his legs too, his mind racing to a conclusion he wished wasn’t true.
He was naked. Something had stripped him down to wearing nothing. That couldn’t be! How could…
“You wear cute diapers! My Daddy doesn’t buy those, but I guess that’s because I’m a bigger boy than you.”
Rye’s words carried into Jimmy’s foggy mind and set off whatever was left of his flight responses. A diaper! He was wearing a diaper! Even through the strange fogginess that had overtaken his senses he could make out the movement of the huge raccoon overhead, waddling around him with the little plush deer.
“I like making new friends. Daddy says I’m too rough sometimes and Lundo says I’m a bit too big to play with other babies. But you’re all big now too!”
Jimmy’s thumb went to his mouth involuntarily. A slow suckling motion started as he began to push his legs together and apart, his knees getting nowhere near each other as both the fat and diaper prevented his legs from moving even slightly.
I don’t wanna get up! I wanna just lie down and play with my rattle!
The voice slammed back in focus as Jimmy shook the rattle again, sending its low notes through his head once more. It was no longer just a horrible noise, it was giving his mind a feeling of intense pleasure. Of fun, enjoyment and euphoria all at once.
A warm feeling that started to spread around his groin did nothing to send him out of the stupor he was in. He knew what it was, what it had to be. He was wetting his diaper, the big thick crinkling underwear that had magically appeared round his waist not a few moments ago. But he had no desire to stop, why would he? The rattle and the feelings in his head were all that mattered in the moment, and Rye seemed happy to just bounce around him, carrying Lundo in one arm as he looked down at his babysitter.
“You’re such a cute baby! Why were you trying to be big? Lundo says you’re too small to play with big boy toys and stuff. So I’ll get to do that!”
Jimmy couldn’t argue with his thumb in his mouth and no responses even came to mind. Drool was running down his chin, his eyes and pupils wide with a dumb grin on his face as the light above him and the sound of the rattle completely smothered any other thoughts.
Except for one
I gotta go poopy!
He pushed. He remembered Rye doing this earlier, the event flashing past his brain as his own diaper started to fill. His face took on the same concentration, the same sudden removal from the world around him as nothing but the feeling of mush spreading against his butt cheeks was all that his brain could comprehend.
“You’re so stinky! I bet you’re even poopier than I get now!” a thoughtful look came over Rye’s face “But who’s gonna change you…?”
Jimmy didn’t care. That wasn’t anywhere close to the forefront of his mind as the contents of his bowels continued to flow out of him into the rear of his diaper. He slowly rolled on his back, left and right to try and get more comfortable as it became more swollen, pushing out the leakguards towards his knees. The padding itself felt like it just continued to thicken and adapt to the weight, his now huge legs spreading ever further apart.
“I guess you can be the baby for the rest of the night” Rye giggled as he waddled around the playpen. What the raccoon hadn’t noticed was that he was also getting smaller, his huge body getting more chubby and pudgy as his height decreased. Eventually he stopped trying to walk, falling onto his hands and knees as he headed towards a toy chest.
“If you’re gonna be the baby you should be all dressed up and stuff!” he fished through the various items and dress-up clothes, outfits flying outwards as he dug towards the bottom.
“Here we go! You’ll look like the best baby in this!”
Jimmy had started to shrink again. He could feel his legs beginning to curl closer to his body, the strange sensation feeling like a tickle to the now mentally regressed wolf. Everything was getting bigger and scarier, his thumb sucking increasing in intensity as he started to hear the fast crawl of a raccoon close to his right side.
“Open up baby!”
Jimmy looked over to see the huge rubber bulb of a pacifier heading straight for his muzzle. His brain made the connections required to let his thumb drop out as it replaced it before his teeth closed over the top of the pacifier and started to suckle again in earnest. He saw Rye crawl round behind him holding something in his paws
“This’ll make you look like the biggest baby ever!”
The wolf felt light cotton go over his head and then some pudgy green fingers come round and start to tie something around his neck. It was loose, but the raccoon seemed to not care that much and left some of the lace to fall down around his now blubbery chest.
“Yay! I like this game. Daddy sometimes dresses me up like this when Granny comes to visit!”
Jimmy could only continue to suckle on the pacifier, his mind now a mess of feelings he no longer had the ability to voice or describe. He was now tiny,, the bonnet now wrapped around his head making his little round body look no older than a few months old.
Rye seemed to have stopped shrinking and sat next to the wolf with a squish. He’d wet his diaper, he could tell that much, but this was normal for him. The smell coming from Jimmy seemed not to faze him in the slightest as he looked back towards the door.
“I wonder when Daddy’s getting home…”
************************************************************************************************
“Already done huh?”
“Hmm? What’s up dude?”
The raccoon shuffled out of his weightlifting bench and headed towards the lockers “Gotta get back to my kid, calling it a night”
“Didn’t you leave him with a babysitter?”
He chuckled “Yeah, and a playmate as well. But I think it’s time I headed back and took care of them both ya know? Don’t wanna give back Rye’s new best friend to his Mommy in a dirty diaper”
“Wouldn’t the babysitter…”
The door to the locker room flipped shut behind the raccoon as he began to undress and get back into something that was drenched in sweat. Pulling his clothes out from his locker he saw the slight glow come from his keyring and scoffed.
“Did you really have to go so fast? I had another hour here…”
The keyring didn’t noticeably respond, not even as it was picked up and shoved into the tight pocket of a pair of shorts. Even as the car eventually arrived back into the driveway, at no point did the slight green glow ever fade as it hung from the ignition.
************************************************************************************************
“Hey kiddos I’m home!”
Rye jumped to his feet and hung onto the side of the playpen as he heard his Daddy arrive. He’d spent the last half-hour lying down and shaking his rattle next to Jimmy, letting the wolf giggle and drool around his pacifier as he enjoyed the noise and flailed his little arms and legs.
“DADDY!”
The giant raccoon headed straight for Rye and picked him up, hoisting him onto his arm as he looked down at the tiny form of the wolf puppy that was sprawled on the playpen floor.
“Really? That small huh?”
“Yeah! Lundo was right, Jimmy was just playing pretend the whole time! He’s just a tiny baby really!”
He scoffed “Guess you’re right. I’m not one to argue with that deer…”
The plush was sitting looking at the two of them. The intensity in its eyes was unmistakable, a depth that made it hard to look away.
As the infant form of Jimmy felt himself start to fall asleep, the feelings of his full diaper, pacifier and bonnet were replaced by a simple one of terror. A feeling of wrongness, of loss. ANd then in a moment they were gone, his mind finally fading as his eyes closed and he fell into a deep sleep.
As he slept, the image of a spectral deer with white bones emitting a greenish glow, came to him. The last words he would understand for several years were then spoken, quietly but distinctly.
Do not test the powers that be,
Curses, hexes and spells you’ll see,
Cosmic powers of these hands divine,
Will mold you till your heart is mine…
