Honestly, I haven't watched any of Skibidi Toilet except the original, but from osmosis the only thing about it that feels weird to me is the wider cultural penetration outside of the people watching it. The style and comedy of the original video is the Gmod youtube poops I grew up on as a late millennial ( the name "DaFuqBoom" is btw referencing a soundbite that was common in those), and the thing where something starts as a shitpost and grows into a long-running post-ironically serious thing with intricate lore has happened before too. The example that comes to my mind is Siivagunner (stylized as SiIvagunner), which started as a parody of a channel for video game music rips, but instead of the real track everything is a bait and switch into some other song remade in that game's instrumental style. Check out an 8.4M upload called "Athletic (PAL version) - Super Mario World" for a prime example of the original bit. That one is run by a collective of terminally online late millennials and zoomers, and when I still kept up about 6 years ago it had already developed into an ongoing metafiction with established characters and lore so convoluted you couldn't try to explain it without sounding like Charlie at the Pepe Silvia corkboard. I think it's only spiraled further since, at least they still do 20-30 uploads daily. Basically nothing about Skibidi Toilet feels intrinsically "gen alpha" or disconnected from the shitpost culture that preceded it. If kids or adults are enjoying it I'm happy for them, but the whole reaction subculture that's grown around being shocked by it or trying to explain it as an unprecedented form of brain rot, and the very idea of making a blockbuster feature film out of it, is imo the most brain rot thing about it.

i’m no expert but i wanna try to give a lil bit more kamala/brat context: Charli XCX has a very devoted fanbase that tends to be very queer. The album’s visuals are, as y’all said, very noteworthy (sidenote, i believe it’s meant to call back to ads for raves in the UK where it’d just be like, the name of a party and maybe the date and venue? Anyway), and create a lot of viral content by themselves. Meanwhile, Kamala’s coconut tree quotes happen and people naturally start making memes/vids/fan cams of kamala set to Charli XCX music (and other artists; there’s a tweet/meme about falling out of the coconut tree but set to the lyrics or “Casual” by Chappell Roan, another pop artist blowing up rn). So a lot of fans are making kamala/brat content, kamala gets the nomination, charli tweets that kamala is brat, here we are. I think lol.
