Your health comes first =) take care

Hope your health issues improve. Yes, health is so much more important, and the world has become so strange now. But very excited for this mod, and it is worth the wait! To me, memories were such an important part of the game.

roBurky

Hi Sheila! Meaningful Memories is still being developed, and I'm glad people are still looking forward to it. I've unfortunately had a very bad past year with health problems and while I've kept up with maintaining the existing mod for game patches, progress on new features has been slow.

Sheila Lobert

Is this still being developed?

Jennacide

Hi any progress updates? so stoked for this

In Meaningful Stories, to change which emotion is green and which is white, install or uninstall the file named `roBurky - MeaningfulStories-TrueHappiness-MoodColor.package` Install it to make the true happy mood white, and the boosting fine mood green. Uninstall it to make the true happy mood green and the boosting fine mood white. Be aware that the colour change is there because boosting moodlets will always be green, and I cannot change this, so it can cause some confusion to have a boosting emotion be white, and a boosted emotion be green.

How can I change the colors between happy and neutral emotions?

Please add flirty memories! The spank bank needs to exist!

Thanks for all the amazing work you're doing on improving the game. I just became a patron :)

Jennacide

I don't know if its been suggested by anyone yet but thrown a successful/unsuccessful party and sold a [insert item here] memories would also be good.

It will have been Sims 3 you're thinking of. I think that one that added the ability to turn off memories because of performance issues. I think that was down to Sims 3 memories having associated photos being automatically taken for each one. I'm not expecting my memory system to have an impact on performance.

I love the idea of this and all of the suggestions are excellent. My biggest question would be how performance would be affected by the memory system. I remember in Sims 3 (or was it 2?) I had to turn off the memory system because it bloated the game so much on the older machine I had at that time.

With the way I am implementing them, memories should stay with a sim when they are exported to your library, and even when uploaded to the gallery, if the person downloading them also has the mod. I haven't tested yet how much relationship data stays with households when they are exported to the library, but I am hoping at least relationship memories involving other sims in the same household will remember who the other sim involved was.

My God, I can't wait until this is implemented. This is the only thing other than collection folders that I miss about the Sims right now. I LOVED all of their memories being documented in-game. I also hope it helps keep their memories in-tact whenever Sims are moved to a new save file. I noticed that although married Sims stay married, they don't remember being in love and non-married couples completely forget they are in a relationship and it's frustrating when they were a good couple but suddenly resist romantic advances because they don't remember being together..

Ah, well, that makes sense. I was trying to make some kind of sense of the text file, but I have no idea how to do that lol. What I'm going to do is first continue to update until I know all other mods are updated before I seek additional help. I assume some bugs will be worked out over the next few days. Thank you very much!

roBurky

This is most likely going to be unrelated to Meaningful Stories, and the mod just gets mentioned because it happens to inject into a function somewhere in the traceback. I can take a look at the LastException file and help you figure out what the problem is, though. It's easiest if you come to the #mod-help channel on Discord and upload it there. http://discord.gg/J8aNfQX

I'm actually getting a lastexception error that lists this mod in the error text file. I really hope it can be fixed soon. I really like this one.

roBurky

Cheats to add memories to sims is something we were talking about recently on the Discord. It is something I would like to do! There may end up being some limitations to it, though, with the way I'm currently storing the memory data. Thank you for becoming a patron!

Miguel M

Hi Roburky! I absolutely love this feature but I'm sad that it's only come so late after years of playing the Sims 4 with my main household. Would it be at all possible to also edit these memories? I would love to create memories for my main couple without having to redo their entire teen lives. EDIT: Also, I am so happy to be a New Patron for your work :D thank you for everything you've done.

SweetLilja

Hi, I did a list when kawaiistacie was asking for her mod, it is pretty big, I was brainstorming. I give it to you as well. However, I believe memories may be great if some could be long time memories and some short time. Like sometime you remember things and then forgets. Another fun thing could be if some Sims could be really good at remembering their dreams at night, but we'll then they need to dream and yet there's no dream-system I believe. Another thing, I really like Sacrificial mods, so if this mod could be easy to make plugins for, so other modders could create plugins for their important mods could be positive. Ok, here comes the list.... Good memories: ------------------- Weddings Giving birth Adopt a child Got a sibling Child grew up Get a pet Remember old friends First woohoo First love First Best friend Winning a fight Winning award Get new job Get promoted to top of career Remember previous job Had a Vacation Visited temple Completed the temple Max points in event Max points in date Learned a skill Maxed a skill Child got max in a lifetime value Child got bottom in a lifetime value Up level in famous First fame Met famous person Max in good reputation Max in bad reputation Became an A-student Dead sims (friends/family/pets - remember them, not mourn) Bad memories: ------------------ Deaths of friends and family Divorce Breakup Got Sick Pet ran away Child was taken by social Missing a Ex-partner Missing a friend Lost fame Lost job Loosing a fight Fire accidents when creating food Fire in Christmas tree Bitten by spider Attacked by bats Occult memories: Bitten by vampire Became vampire Saw a ghost Died (became ghost) Saw alien Abducted by alien Situations that caused sim to be very angry, very sad, very embarrassed and the other Other (X is for name/type): Visited X festival Got Roommate X Got Enemy X Missed to pay bills Didn't pay for dinner Didn't make it to the toilet in time Fainted because of bad sleep Totally failed holiday X Full score in holiday X Winning talent show Met Father winter Met flower bunny Awakened pumpkin man Met hermit Became plantsim Found hidden lot X Cheated on partner As Cleptomaniac succeeded to take something As Cleptomaniac failed to take something Started a business Some other memories about own store/restaurant Adopt a pet Bitten by small pet Memories from new packs (new in list): ------------------------------- Met a mermaid Met a island spirit Met a dolphin Became a mermaid Volcano First time swimming in ocean Cleaned up the beach My first odd job Creepy Sims welcome wagon Found a odd fruit Visited secret science lab Met the mother Friend became obsessed in front of my eyes Well sorry they are many, maybe they are suggestions, not like I totally need every single one. Maybe it can give some help when figuring out memories to add.

Time-Machine

Oh! And memories of their children's accomplishments! "Getting a A!" should't just be a memory for kids, but for their parents! Memories of your child's wedding and stuff!

Time-Machine

I'd love if sims remembered stuff like skipping school with a friend when the hooky opportunity pops up , dates they went on (and if they were a good or bad date), becoming best friends with a person or companions with a pet. I don't know how hard it would be, but if they could remember everyone they've dated or woohoo'd, regardless of current relationship levels, and get moodlets based on interacting with them I'd love that. An embarrassed or angry "oh no my ex" if it ended badly or a tense "why do I still care?" if they do PDA with someone else in proximity or a tense/embarrassed "one night stand" moodlet when you run into someone your sim slept with and never spoke to again (that last one sounds particularly rough, as I'm not sure how the game would differentiate between someone you sim slept last night with and intends to speak to again and someone you truly haven't seen in a while). But it would be neat if memories affected moods, and if memories affected relationships and moods when encountering other sims. If sims might get a mild confident moodlet if they're interacting with someone they bested in a fight or stuff like that.

roBurky

Yes, I think that would be very appropriate! I made a prototype of this concept a couple of years ago when I was less experienced in modding. That one was focused purely on moodlets from memories, and it did include memories from childhood having a much bigger or more common effect.

Andrada Petrovici

Memories of the first pet, first love (like sometimes the sim is wondering what that other sim that was a first love was doing), memory of a good movie, memory of vacations and all of the above :D

Jennacide

All of the above, births, death, marriages, being cheated on and divorce

Jennacide

omg yes I'd love it if this mod could interact with WW, Basemental

This looks like it's going to be amazing! It would really increase my immersion if childhood memories had a particularly lasting effect, especially very important ones like deaths of pets or family members, divorce of parents, first friendships, etc. Best of luck!

Esteban Medina

Hello Roburky, that sounds like a great idea. I second what Athena said, WW and Basemental are massive mods right now, along with Slice of Life. I believe that Slice of Life does have some memory interactions with moodlets. I am unsure how sophisticated it is in comparison to what you’re planning to do but perhaps you can collaborate with Kawaiistacie in some way! Best of luck, really appreciate how you’ve changed the Sims 4.

Athena Apollos

I would like to suggest integration with WW, Basemental Drugs and/or Slice of Life. Also, add memories for "firsts" like First Time, First Snow, First Holiday together, etc.
