The Dangers of Decaying Imperialism - Red Star Daily #11
🕑 Added 2022-10-26 22:29:48 +0000 UTCIn this episode of the daily bulleting I look at the latest from the frontlines in Ukraine. I then turn to comments made by Putin recently at a meeting of CIS security officials regarding the sovereignty (or lack thereof) of Ukraine. I also consider the devastating effects on population size and birth rates that the collapse of the socialist system had on places like Latvia.
In the final part of the programme I look at the chances of the peace deal that was almost signed back in March actually working.
Musical outro is 'Rising of the Moon' sung by Luke Kelly with lyrics by James Larkin
Episode artwork is 'The Year 1919' by the Soviet Artist Fyodor Shurpin

Thanks for this bulletin, very informative as usual. And good to hear your thoughts about falling birth rates as a complement to Leila's recent article on the topic in Compact
