It would be great to know more about the more peripheral states' (like Italy) relationships with monopoly capital. It seems we start by looking at the relationship between the "North" and "South" as one defined by imperialism, but this in insufficient. In what ways does monopoly capital relate to the countries in the grey zone between former colonies and the imperial core?
