🕑 Added 2021-05-12 14:24:34 +0000 UTCThe Labour Party's recent loss in Hartlepool has reignited the debate about whether the Labour Party can still be understood as the UK's workers' party. We talk about why the Labour party lost its recent by-election in Hartlepool, the class composition of Labour politicians, Labour's uneven and contradictory history, and the pressure-group called 'Blue Labour'. Long story short, we don't see a way forward for the Labour Party.

If nothing else it’s kind of fun to see those people who billed Keith De La Stammer as a competent and viable opposition lose their shit over the working class not being grateful or educated enough to appreciate his vision. I suspect the biggest gains have been made by the people just not bothering to turn up and vote, though this is just a guess on my part.
