i’m sure some youtube comments have pointed it out- but ariana is actually getting a divorce/got divorced i’m not sure which one, so if you look into the lyrics a lot of the songs are actually pretty heartbreaking

Ariana is a HUGE Jim Carrey fan. He was her first celebrity crush lol but also fun fact -- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was one of Mac Miller's fav movies, so many people also think it's kind of her paying homage to him as well naming her album that. Also! If you look at it, the album starts off with Ariana saying "how do you know if you're in the right relationship" and the album ends with Nonna answering her and telling her exactly how to know when she should leave. It's so great

So happy to see y'all's reaction so quickly!! Thank you!! Personally, I can't stand Yes, and? Lol I cringe so hard at the talky bridge 🤷‍♀️ And I had the same thought as Mike that 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' wasn't a favorite but now with the music video, it definitely fits the rest of the album and serves such an important purpose 🥰 I do think this is a concept album. Ariana went through a divorce and is now in a relationship so I definitely think that the movie was a major source of inspiration
