you talked over the entire song! How can you listen for poetry and meaning and then talk about who's smoking what over all the lyrics to "You're On Your Own Kid"???
Molly Cornelius
I don't think you're getting a lot of the nuance in her lyrics. I also think you're failing to listen with empathy. No one in the world is as famous as Taylor Swift. She literally can't go outside her house without being mobbed by crowds and paparazzi. Her every life choice whether active or passive becomes fodder for debate. There are millions of people who have strong & loudly voiced opinions about when she should get married and when she should have children and when she should retire and settle down in a way that no other woman is examined. Millions of people think they have the right to an opinion on who she dates and on whether she's paying enough attention to her biological clock. She's faced incessant slut-shaming since the time she was a teenager. She's struggled with an eating disorder which she's talked about openly- something that's gone to help other people with eating disorders. She has built her entire life around being good and kind and moral and entertaining others with her incredibly intimate, diaristic songs. And there is nothing she isn't judged for. So, this is not just anyone talking about the struggles of being famous. This is the most famous person on Earth trying to express something to us that none of us will ever in our lives be able to comprehend. The very least we can do when she opens her heart and shares some of her deepest insecurities is to listen with empathy instead of yawning and saying, we're bored with your unimaginable life experience. Tell us about a different thing you're feeling. We're tired of you being self conscious now. Be angry for us. Be happy for us. No be happy in a new way with more words and less synth! Jeeze. She's a human being. She's sharing her fears and isolation. Stop judging long enough to hear what she's saying. I know you're capable. I've seen you do it before. Don't get jaded. Listen. Empathize.
Molly Cornelius
First of all, Mike, she *was* in England when she wrote Midnights. Secondly, "tea time" is also a play on words. Pouring the tea is slang for telling the truth or gossiping. Part of the reason you're underwhelmed by some of the lyrics, is you're missing some of the poetry and layers to what Taylor's written.
Austin
need the till dawn edition reaction !!!!!!!!!
T
All ELEVEN of them!😉eleven. There's eleven. That's 1 1.
Melissakay503
I love that you understood Mastermind right away. It’s definitely about her fans
Sheila Ellis
Taylor was the first artist that trusted Jake to produce songs. Now look at him.

Fair enough!!! I know you are busy so even listen in your own time. The three bonus tracks are some of my favourites ❤️🩹
Taylor Forsythe
I’m sure y’all are seeing it enough in the comments but just in case… please react to the 3 AM tracks and the 2 additional midnights tracks 🙏🏼 (one from the til dawn addition “Hits Different” and second is a recently-released-on-streaming midnights vault track “You’re Losing Me”, both are so good).

Camille Platts-McPharlin

Camille Platts-McPharlin
Love this!! Mastermind is my fav off the album too! You need to do the 3am tracks and the two other songs from the vault - You’re Losing Me and Hits Different! Looking forward to your reaction to the Eras Tour!!
Emmalia Moorhouse
Also, Maroon is a grower, not a shower
Emmalia Moorhouse
You guys should listen to Unreal Unearth by Hozier

Samantha Annabelle
Also ngl the best parts of the album are the extended songs like 3 AM edition tracks. Please do those as well! I think Mike will enjoy them a lot more!!
Samantha Annabelle
Tea Time meaning gossip time. Like “spill the tea” aka gossip. I know your dad wouldn’t get that specifically but she doesn’t mean like a sit down snack with tea 😂
Julia Maia Silveira De Castro
Omg please tell me you’re reacting to The Eras Tour in its entirety 🙌🏼❤️
MWDIDZ
Mastermind in her Eras film blew my mind 🤯🤯🤯
Caitlin Green
Yes! But they both leave Netflix 12/31 so it’d have to be soon 🫠
Caitlin Green
I feel like to really grasp Anti Hero and how introspective and self deprecating she’s being you might need to watch the music video? It’d be great to see a reaction to it but if no reaction I highly suggest checking it out on your own.
Caitlin Green
Any time frame for it?? 🙃
T
No no no please don't miss any tracks. There are 11 more. The great war, bigger than the whole sky, paris, high infidelity, glitch, would've could've should've, dear reader, hits different, snow on the beach ft more Lana, karma remix ft ice spice, and you're losing me. Well you can skip the ice spice remix, but NONE others! Please and thank you!
Aloha Record Sargent
Awesome! Looking forward to it.
Hayley Townsend

T
Oh yeah i forgot about that.
T
Omg yes
Morgan
It’s also a reference to Kendall Jenner’s “tea time” IG post in the midst of the #taylorswiftisoverparty drama, which she mirrored in the LWYMMD MV.
Morgan
You’re right, YOYOK is a Carrie reference. It’s a comparison to how Kanye/Kim framed her in 2016 when she was at the peak of her fame. It almost destroyed her career & the whole world called her a snake, so she came back with Rep.
Meagan Muller
SO glad you guys like YOYOK :) Maroon was my first play on repeat song from this album - it's like a grown up Red. I love it! And if you guys like Vigilante Shit you're gonna FLIP during the concert and also will love Reputation. Can't wait!
H S
Yes they already reacted to it along with evermore
Mike Mulligan
We did a reaction to folklore👍
Brittany
love the reaction! definitely think you should react to the 3am tracks (+ you’re losing me)! also, i think you’d love her album folklore so much!
Edward Ramirez
Great vid guys, finally convinced me to sub to the Patreon after a few months of enjoying your videos on Youtube! I'd love to throw Ethel Cain's "Preacher's Daughter" into the suggestion ring!
Leah Rose
Love your reaction to Lavender Haze being a smoking song...there was a lot of talk from Swifties about whether or not there was double meaning here, Taylor said (in a now deleted video) that Lavender Haze came from Mad Men, but then after she was seen at a \party in New York in multiple photos where there were joints/blunts being passed around, many of us conclude it indeed, also refers to weed haha
Michael
We will do the extra songs from the album in another video 🫡✌🏻
niccala
yes please!!! these are the best songs of this era
Jamie Speese
Agree agree agree! You’re Losing Me is absolutely illegallll 😭😭😭🥹
Maisie Rogers
based on your reaction to vigilante shit i'm very excited for you to hear reputation haha i think you'll like it a lot
Giorgia M
Some of her reputation stuff she’s basically rapping on it 😭 vigilante shit is definitely reputation coded. Just wondering, did you ever hear the bonus tracks from folklore and evermore? I just remembered there lol
Giorgia M
I find this album is quite divisive, as in I never know if people are gonna like it when they listen to it. A lot of music commentary people I’ve seen seem to appreciate it more than the average person I think? It’s nowhere near my favourite album but it has some of my favourite songs ever of hers on it, so that’s where it’s conflicting for me. Unfortunately, I think the best songs are in the 3am or extended version. It is very concept and stylised which I think the album both gains and loses a lot from that. It’s about 13 sleepless nights in her life hence midnights so it’s very introspective and reflective on current and past experiences. But there is better/stronger songs on the extended versions (that’s subjective obviously but I think a lot of fans agree), but they don’t fit the theme or the style or sound so aren’t on the OG. That just seems kind of weak to me personally, if fans are more likely to want to listen to the deluxe songs than the original album ones. Like it’s conceptually consistent but at what cost?
Guilherme Oliveira
Please react to the midnights 3am edition, with 7 new tracks
Hayley Townsend
Mastermind is my fave song on the album, and top 10 fave all time of hers. I love the calculation in it, the way it builds and plays out, just uh 🤌🏼 I reallllllly hope you listen to the 3am Tracks, Hits Different, Snow on the beach feat more Lana and then the masterpiece of… You’re Losing Me. Please listen to them, do like a part 2 of this video and so we can watch the way you react to them. Love you guys!
Rhonwen Wight
Aw was really hoping for the 3am edition cause the 7 added tracks are amazing
Art •
Please also make a reaction on 3am Tracks, Til Dawn Tracks, and You're Losing Me 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Nicole Yoffee
I loved your reactions and I’m so glad you enjoyed the album! I would definitely love to see your reactions of the 3am tracks because they are just as, if not more, amazing! Also, you are absolutely going to love Reputation if you love Vigilante Shit and I hope you react to that one next. I can’t wait to watch you react to the Eras Tour movie! Thanks for the fun uploads and Merry Christmas!😊
Brianna
Anti-hero is such a deep reflection on her flaws and insecurities. It's so honest and personal. You're on your own kid live on the eras tour is sooo moving to me. It's so beautiful, I can't wait for you guys to see it.
Pablo Sacoto
I can't wait for you guys to react to de 10 deluxe tracks :) They are as good as the whole album
Kristen
would love for y’all to react to Snow On The Beach (featuring more Lana)!! Also, all the 3AM edition tracks. Also Hits Different. Also You’re Losing Me 😅 midnights is the era that just keeps giving
Nicole Gordon
You really are shorting yourself not to listen to at least 3am edition, if not Til Dawn + You’re Losing Me. Those songs are sooooo good. Glad you liked the back half of the original version :) I freaking love Maroon - was actually the one where I went, “oh, OKAY, here we go…” Something about it just hits me even if that droning synth or whatever at the end isn’t my favorite. Have fun watching the tour movie!
Maddie
YES!! I cannot believe it’s leaving
Aloha Record Sargent
Literally can't wait for the Eras Tour film reaction!! When can we expect this??
Aloha Record Sargent
True, and it also could be a metaphor for "spilling the tea," specifically on social media, since she says "everybody agreesssssss" (drawing out the "s" like a snake in reference to her 2016 cancellation and the snake-emoji-incident)!
Aloha Record Sargent
Right, and then when she says "everybody agreessssss" and draws out the "s" it could be a reference to the infamous snake emoji incident (so gossip specifically on social media about her)
Victoria Fernandes
it was NYU not harvard but trueeee
Victoria Fernandes
anti hero is one of the most introspective pop songs ever. i love how self aware she is in it and how heartbreaking the lyrics truly are. “i’ll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror” is so gut wrenching. she displays her biggest fears of being “too much” for people and her extremely specific nightmare of her family just caring about her money in a song that is so catchy. i love it so much.
Maddie
Best Christmas present ever!! Fav album & duo <3
Adriana Esparza
On Anti-Hero when she says “At teatime, everybody agrees” - I always take this to be a reference to the current slang use of ‘tea’ to mean ‘gossip,’ so that “teatime” would mean when people get together to gossip
Adriana Esparza
The line you were looking for at the end of Mastermind is actually a line in Sweet Nothing! “On the way home, I wrote a poem. You say, ‘What a mind.’ This happens all the time.” Fun fact: Her partner of 6 years at the time (Joe) wrote this song with her.
Robin Gibbons
I think it's going away from Netflix at the end of the month
Mandi Bullard
Go watch the Reputation Tour on Netflix if yall want an album of Vigilante Shit!!! Netflix pulls it on 12/31 so jump on it!
A2313
if you guys do rep PLEASE watch miss americana BEFORE it gives the album so much context knowing what she was going through at that time and why she was writing what she was
Mandi Bullard
So Mike feeling like this album is “woe is me”, it sort of is, it’s a culmination of the midnights of her life, all the things that kept her up and still keep her up at night. Read the intro of the album and that should help explain what this is. Even where he says “teenage angst”, these songs are about her thoughts and her revisiting the things that haunt her at night and keep her depression working the graveyard shift. Love you guys! Reading the album intros will help get you in the right headspace to relate or appreciate
Mandi Bullard
Oh gosh, yall gotta listen to the til dawn version.. yall JUST did 1989, you know the back half and bonus tracks are where she really shines
Katie Dodd
Exactly
Molly C
I think they filmed 6 nights straight in LA for the eras tour. luckily she sold it out that many nights so they didn't have to film other locations.
Leandro Pereira Da Silva
Except for the songs I love on the 3am edition, Midnights is her most mid album for me. Hope you react to the other songs
T
I thought she was saying "At tea time" in Antihero because her long term ex bf was from England and she was saying like, he and his friends would criticize or talk crap about her and confirm her deepest insecurities.
Molly C
and the more Lana version of snow on the beach (released after people were salty Lana didn't have a verse.
Mary M
I really hope you guys will do another video with the midnights 3am tracks! In my opinion, some of the best songs from midnights are on the 3am version. Thank you for this reaction. Y’all are the best 🫶
April Green
P.s. this got me so excited for the eras tour reaction and for when you do reputation!!!!
April Green
Absolutely LOVED the reaction per usual 😄 you'll have to react to the till dawn edition for the extra tracks! And maybe throw in 'you're losing me' that just got released for streaming, and that should work for the midnights reaction haha
T
And hits different!!!!!! It is one of my favorites of all time!
Molly C
When Reputation Taylors Version comes out, you can hear her rap lol
H S
I really really wish you would check out reputation, it is my favorite album from her. Also, would love if you react to the miss americana documentary
Caitlin Green
Sweet Nothing was inspired by Paul McCartney and his wife Linda! There’s some debate if her “co-writer” William Bowery is in fact Joe or if it’s actually Paul…or that person may change depending on the song it’s in reference to!
Caitlin Green
Please please please do the 3am tracks and add in You’re Losing Me 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve is part two of Dear John that you heard on Speak Now
Zainab Alqallaf ✨
you need to listen to the whole album not just the stander version I feel you won’t get the same experience we need part 2 🥲
Rajdeep Kang
please listen to the deluxe plus you’re losing me! my favorite tracks off the album fs
Anna-Liesa
I would also love if you react to her Documentary "Miss Americana" it's on Netflix. It gives so much inside in her as a person and her life. I also think it is important to understand her albums Reputation an Lover better because the doc sort of portrays her situation writing these albums or what let her to make them and also her whole career up til 2019 /2020
Annette House
Ooh last comment - the concert movie was filmed over 3 nights in LA at SoFi stadium. They cut it up but it looks very cohesive
Ryry
My impact omg
ariel
the eras tour was all filmed at the la shows they filmed the first 3 shows of her six shows she had that week in that stadium and cut the performances and angles together. y'all will have a blast!!
noelle
the eras tour was filmed in California at Sofi
Emilie
i'm glad you enjoyed the album! i was so happy with your reactions, even though at the beginning i thought papa mike was going to hate it, hahaha. and btw he has to give her some credit because most of folkmore were madeup songs with different themes. well, i was a bit sad you didn't like Maroon, it's my favorite from the album (and i don't know if you made the connection, but she is the older sister to Red). can't believe you liked Question...? because i feel like i'm the only one who likes this song lol (and did you notice the start "i remember" looks like she is referencing Out of the woods). also, the concept of the album is 13 sleepless nights from her life, but recently she liked a tweet linking Sweet nothing to an interview Paul McCartney gave years ago where he talks about the line (your dad was trying to find in Mastermind but it was this one btw) "on the way home i wrote a poem, you say what a mind, this happens all the time". and she says on her Time interview she wrote Mastermind thinking about the PTA movie Phantom Thread, so there's that (if you haven't watched it, you should). i was a bit upset this wasn't the extended version of the album, but i hope you'll be doing that in the future (please!!!!). anyway, happy holidays for you and your family, and see you on the eras tour movie video!! so excited! ily. (and excuse my bad english, i'm from brazil lol).
Jenna
i am on my knees begging for a reputation album reaction
Annette House
Vigilante Shit is about Scooter Braun we think. You guys are gonna love the performance in the eras movie
Anna-Liesa
A important detail that I think is so cool: Taylor was the first person to trust Jack Antonoff with producing a song. He sad in multiple Interviews that he wanted to get into producing but kind of no one led him. Here is a quote from him “I'd been trying to produce for a while, but there was always some industry herb going, 'That's cute, but that's not your lane.’ Taylor was the first person with the stature to go, 'I like the way this sounds, I'm putting it on my album'—and then, suddenly, I was allowed to be a producer." They are very close friends ever since they started working back in 2013/2014. The first album he was in is 1989 and he has worked with her on every project since but midnights is like you sad the first one they did with just the two of them Just for a bit background information
Art •
"Reputation (TV)" is coming!!!
Annette House
Regarding the Prince references - I don’t think there’s a string of connections here but I don’t doubt that he influenced her. They played together at an SNL afterparty before he passed. I love how much you guys read into You’re On Your Own Kid ❤️
Tal
There's a "deluxe edition" of the album called: "Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition)" which includes all the the 3am tracks (which are in my opinion, the best of this album and sound different than the first 13) and a few more tracks that fans love like 'Hits Different' and 'Snow On The Beach (Featuring more Lana Del Rey) because fans were upset the original version doesn't include a lot of Lana's vocals, so Lana and Taylor went into the studio and recorded a new version with Lana singing more. also there's 1 track that isn't included in this version because it was only released on physical cd's on her tour and only like a week ago it was released on streaming services. it's called "You're Losing Me" and it's one of Taylor best songs ever, because of it's vulnerability and honesty. the song is about her last relationship which lasted 6 years. you have to react to all of it! they're so good. again, in my opinion all the "extended tracks" are better than the original 13 and sound different!
Courtney McAlexander
Can’t WAIT to see y’all witness what she does with vigilante shit live!
berny
You should listen to the extended tracks from the different versions 🫶🏼
Mya
The album is about 13 sleepless nights over the past years of her career; not all the songs are how she’s feeling rn
Derlis Aguilera
When she made the commencement speech at Harvard in 2022 when they gave her a doctorate for her work she put little bits of songs on this album in the speech, here's a part of what you're on your own kid means in the context of her speech "Sometimes the right thing to do is to throw out the old schools of thought in the name of progress and reform. Sometimes the right thing to do is to listen to the wisdom of those who have come before us. How will you know what the right choice is in these crucial moments? You won’t. How do I give advice to this many people about their life choices? I won’t. Scary news is: You’re on your own now. Cool news is: You’re on your own now."
Ana Luiza Sant'anna
Pleasee, do the 3 a.m version
Derlis Aguilera
Btw there's another version of Snow On The Beach and it says (More Lana) she sings the whole second verse and changes the melody. She said on an interview that if a song is already perfect and gets asked to work on it she'll just act as a producer but fans were mad because it says she is featured and didn't get a verse haha
Meghan Hameister
Ahhh so excited that you two did this one, but sad it wasn’t the 3 A.M. edition. ‘Dear Reader’ is one of my fav songs of hers.
Courtney McAlexander
Already such an interesting reaction. A song like maroon is a fan favorite and y’all were like nah, Lol. I do think that somethings are lost when you don’t have the context, fans love maroon for the haunting sound, but also for the lyrics. It’s an aged up version of red, looking back on a relationship and seeing it as all of these darker shades of red and ultimately maroon. The wordplay she uses in it is really something to marvel at as a fan.
Jenna
Omg you guys HAVE TO DO the 3am version! It's not complete without it! Arguably some of the better songs on the entire album!!
noelle
Omg only the first 13 :O Hopefully yall release a video listening to the rest! The extended version is produced by Aaron Dessner!
Caitlin Green
Finally!!!!! Can’t wait to watch!
Emilie
midnights christmas special i LOVE it
noelle
Im keeping my fingers crossed that y’all included “You’re Losing Me”
Jenna
