The deck builder is continuing to take shape. It has now moved well past the conceptual stage and entered implementation. Right now, I can navigate to the deck builder from the game's main menu and bring up most of the UI, including clickable buttons and functional cards. The card list can be smoothly scrolled.
There were a lot of uncertainties with making all of this work properly, especially considering how I'm mixing Ren'py and Python code. I will have to pull off some unusual tricks with the user interface, but I feel confident that I can pull them off. Besides, getting this far has already dealt with the trickiest stuff.
Using Github Copilot (the integrated code helper using the same engine as ChatGPT) has been a great help with this, actually. Its suggestions are surprisingly relevant most of the time. While not everything it suggests works, it still saves me a lot of effort typing and searching through documentation. I could also use GhatGPT itself to optimize some of my code, letting it do this in seconds when I would have spent 10+ minutes on it had I done it manually. AI can be really fun, especially once you integrate it into your workflow.
In other news, the Discord channel got boosted to the point where it can have its own banner image and more stickers/emojis. I will use this opportunity to add Supermodel-related stuff to the server. Still, it will take a little while for me to pose and render everything needed.
Things are really shaping up for 2.0. There's a long way to go yet, but it's finally beginning to feel substantial and real.
Until next time!
