Afterword - Fox & Spice - Ep. 2 - Trish, The Waitress

I don’t know if you remember, but Trish first appeared in the spin-off of The Sun I Can’T see, Fox & Spice episode 1.
Back then, all she did was greet the main character and offer her some guidance. That was it. But for some reason, her positivity and enthusiasm left a powerful impression on me. I knew right away that I wanted to reuse her in further episodes. So I needed to give her a story.
When I started writing, I knew immediately that her story couldn’t be contained inside one chapter, yet, I couldn’t write a long story in one shot because I was too busy. Writing short stories is much easier.
The first chapter was risky because it didn’t contain any eroticism or sex or anything. It was just sad and violent. I wasn’t sure how people would react to that kind of introduction, and I still don’t know really because it only got two likes and three short comments. But my mind was already made up; this would be a three parts story, no matter if people read it or not.
You know me by now; I like tapping in social issues, struggles, handicaps, etc. We find strength in our weaknesses. In this case, obviously, domestic violence was it. It was not easy to rough up such a nice girl, but unfortunately, those bad situations exist in the real world. Nice girls you’d never suspect are living this are victims of way worse and cannot find a way out anymore.
I’m a man of many problems… or so I keep saying. Many times in my life, I wished that someone could just appear magically to get me out of trouble. Obviously, it doesn’t work like that in real life, but it feels good to hope. Nyssa is the embodiment of that wish. Someone who understands how life works and has a desire to use it to save people.
Chapter 2 was perhaps my favorite from a human point of view. This is personal again, but I grew up with almost no education. I’m sure many of you are in the same boat. Shit school, absent parents, never been protected, fed, or whatever else make you fall in the category of people that built themselves from the ground up. You know what I’m talking about. You had to learn to clean yourself, learn how to dress, learn how to read and write better, learned how to behave in society, learn everything really, because you were a ghost during your childhood. It is way more common that one would think.
What if one woman would come to you with some knowledge that you didn’t possess because nobody taught it to you, and you didn’t stumble on it during your self-education, a knowledge that had the power to make you feel in peace with yourself, a basic human being mechanism that is life-changing.
A while ago, I read this book—the Happiness Trap. I recommend it to everybody who tends to get stuck inside their head, like me. The knowledge I got from it was valuable. The brain is a funny thing. It will keep sending you random thoughts, but most of them are just garbage. That’s how the human mind works. If you listen to those thoughts, you are screwed. It’s better to let them chatter in the background and focus on something else more fun.
Nyssa did that trick to Trish. How to calm a mind… how to separate useful thoughts from the useless ones. Understanding this has healing properties, really. It empowers someone to the highest degree and returns control back to that messed-up brain of the owner.
I see my mind as a google server. I get all those queries and all those results, and most of it is crap. I only handpick the useful thoughts that make me progress in life. (ok, I fail at that, but I’m trying).
This was how I decided to heal Trish fictionally.
In chapter 3, I didn’t want to spend another day just doing psychology. So I propelled Trish in the future, a month later, when she was doing much better already and started to think she could have a life.
In that chapter, I decided to add latex and sex in a tasteful matching manner, because you guys like sex and latex. (who doesn?) It turned out that it made it fun to write. I used those things to build a very cheerful ending. Using Nyssa to show Trish that sex can be enjoyable was amusing to me. I wanted Nyssa to purge Trish from all the remaining bad feelings she might have and left in her brain.
That last part, I guess, was something I hoped for myself. Trish found happiness, but I have yet to find mine. I don’t know if writing those stories will help me or hurt me. Either I’m learning something about life, slowly, or it is just an outlet for me to avoid facing my fears and go out there. I will never really know, but I’m sure talking about it is a good thing. At least I know there is some fun out there that I could get in case I feel like looking for it one day. Who knows.
Overall, this three-part story was one of my favorites so far, and I will be able to reuse Trish in future Fox & Spice episodes with much more confidence.
I don’t know how many people read it, but I would like to thank you so much for doing so, even if you didn’t comment on it. Perhaps you thought it was crap, maybe you thought it was good, but you trusted me enough to give it a go, so I appreciate that.
Fox & Spice 3 should be more pleasant and adventurous. If you have good ideas for that next chapter of Fox & Spice, let me know. Something joyful would be great. :)

For me it’s the way she combines the therapeutical with love and with lust. Sex and bdsm in particular is so often considered a dark thing, especially by those who practice it but not feel fully comfortable with that either *coughs discretely* . The way you invert that trope, for me, makes this such a wholesome read
yeah... Maybe I could write about Mary and how she got to the club with her friends. We don't know how it came to be really.
Yeah, there was a good vibe to it. But I can't hide that it's probably because I'd like people to act like this with me. Would it not be nice to have someone say "Ok, stop thinking, I'm taking care of you now."

The Trish story line was really enjoyable (in the sense that things get better). I really like your writing. For the next one: you introduced some other employees, however for something light-hearted and fun it may be easier to introduce some regulars that come and have fun (inside or outside the club).
Really liked Trish story. It came to a great end. How a shattered person can be healed. It showed the good in people. The number of patreons shows people really enjoy your writing . Thanks for sharing your creative stories
I haven't read all of Trish the waitress yet, and Im still reading The Sun, but I do like the side stories of Fox and Spice, it gives a goid inside into a fetish club and people's perceptions of but it is. Plus it reminds me of going to Provocation which is closed right now because of the lockdowns

Good observation. She did kind of took control of Trish over time to achieve her goal to help her. The end result is good, but yes, ethically, is it right? I don't know that much about Nyssa yet as I didn't build her character yes, but your comment is certainly an eye opener. :)
She left me a vibe that she likes to control people lives. As if it is ok to do better but she is carefull to remember them that she helped them. That is what makes me feel that she is a bit evil.
Mmm... Nyssa has been awesome so far. What makes you think she is not a good person? I don't think the next episode will be about her. Fox & Spice is a series of unrelated (kind of) episodes. I was thinking about doing something light hearted and fun after Trish heavy story. I have to think of something. :) But for sure, I get the feeling I will have to go back to Nyssa eventually. :)
If my feeling is correct the third sequence will be about Nyssa and how she got to bding the owner. To be honest she got my curiosity and i have a feeling she is not that good of a person
