A heartfelt "thank you" to the RFB patrons
🕑 Added 2020-09-11 20:13:58 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I published "Yazidi Religion Explained" yesterday, and it's off to a strong start. Check it out to learn about this fascinating religious community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRB9e9Ol4Hs&t=1s
This was one of the most difficult videos for me to make. The research was difficult to find and contradictory. So it took hours and hours to write the script. Then, the editing took hours and hours as it was one of my longer videos. I also needed to personally contact several scholars to help with the video (including Dr. Eszter Spät donating b-roll footage to the project).
And then it was demonetized as soon as I published it. I guess I'm not surprised. I talk about genocide in this video. That is not an "advertiser friendly topic." But it still stung to lose all of that revenue for a labor-of-love that took me days to make.
So! All of that to say. You all are amazing. You liberate me to work on the projects I want to pursue without the fear of the YouTube Ad Alghorithm. Thank you all so much.

They do, YouTubers actually get more for Premium views compared to regular ad revenue funded views.

I've forgotten, do you get revenue from YouTube Premium customers on "demonetized" videos or is there no revenue at all?
