Because their mecha/fight scene footage source reboots every year with a completely new story and motif. So they had run out of archived footage from Dairanger and needed to explain why everything in season 3 looks different now that Ninja Sentai Kakuranger footage was being used.

So I remember this vaguely from when I was a kid. But the thing I remember more than the movie was the hellish ooze product they sold as toy merchandise for this move. My brother and I both got some of it and it stained everything! I'm pretty sure we had to throw some of our clothes away because the purple would not come out. Is Moishe J afraid of the microphone? You guys did a great job of rescuing the audio, but, wow, he made it hard. I'm guessing he's a very antic talker and would have to be taped to the chair, which could create a whole other set of complications. Great episode! I'm so glad that I'm old enough that very few of my childhood cartoons make it into movie form (although, seriously, I could watch a live action version of the Herculoids).
