I find Amazon not allowing "rape erotica" to be slightly weird if it has the caveat of "the victim is into it by the end". At that point, what's the problem with selling OTHER rape fantasy stuff, since I assume that the presumed "issue" would be "encouraging rape", but if the fantasy STARTS out as rape that doesn't really make a difference.

Meadhands, I was coming to post an answer to the exact same question. And yes! This movie is absolutely for women. I have not seen this movie. And, while I started to explain myself, I soon realized that this is NOT going to translate very well via post on Patreon, and decided I should keep my explanation to myself. But, trust me. At one point in this podcast, Eli asks: who is this for? It's not for women, right? Now, I don't know how facetious he's being, but I can tell you that it is, in fact, women. My brother happens to be one of the top erotic fiction writers on Amazon and he writes whatever happens to be popular. Because of this, he has written a whole bunch of weird stuff, but there was a point where he was writing nothing but "Lesbian Forced Submision." Now, if you don't know what that is—which, okay, understandable—it's essentially rape porn, but the person being raped is into it by the end. Since straight-up rape erotica is not allowed on Amazon, this is about as close as you can get without getting your work pulled. While that may seem strange to most people reading this, it was explosively popular last year and he made a lot of money writing it. And the stereotype holds because it is almost exclusively women buying his work. In fact, it is almost exclusively women writing this stuff as well. He's just the odd one out.

"Steele" seems to be a popular last name in fiction. They talked about the female lead being named "Anastasia Steele", and a character named "Rayford Steele" from the Left Behind movies.
