Progress Report: APC Home Update v1.03
🕑 Added 2023-01-03 03:46:17 +0000 UTCOkay, I think I'm good for now with my update to Bostek's APC Home on the Move mod for Fallout 4. You can now grab v1.03 of the patch in the #apc-home-update channel on the GreslinGames Discord.
This version of the patch includes a handful of relatively minor bug fixes, as well as some script improvements. Everything should work.
The big change in v1.03 is that I threw out the "Water Supplies" activator and replaced it with a scripted water reclamation/boiler system, based on water boiling vessels used in World War 2-era British armored combat vehicles. (Thanks again to Khemitude for the history lesson and idea!)
The idea behind this water boiler is that, once you have fixed up the APC and gotten the food bench in working order, the vehicle has a military-grade atmospheric water reclamation system that slowly condenses moisture and boils it in the vessel. This process takes several hours (configurable in MCM), but eventually you can empty the vessel into an empty Nuka Cola, beer, or milk bottle. Once empty, the vessel will slowly start filling again.
The boiler produces one Dirty Water in each cycle. If you are using FROST, it produces FROST Boiled Water. The unit begins accumulating water as soon as you upgrade the food bench.
My plan at some point is to include a perk-based upgrade path to produce purified water, and to possibly speed up the production time. But that probably won't be for a while yet.
Finally, v1.03 has MCM support. At the moment, it's not much: you can adjust the APC's fuel efficiency (number of trips per cell) and the production time on the water boiler.
