π² Casino Venue
Make sure you have the up to date version of the Universal Venue List, you can download it from this post.
Change the Lot Type of any venue in your game to the Casino Venue. Make sure to add all the required objects to the venue in order for it to function.
Once you have sorted out your venue you can visit it with any player and try your luck in the various games on site.
π° Chips Converter Machine
The first thing you want to do before playing Black Jack, Roulette or Slots is to convert some Simoleons to Chips. To do that, click on the Chips Converter Machine and select Trade Chips.
Acquiring 100 Chips will cost you 1000 Simoleons.
When you are in the middle of a gambling session you can click on the Chips Converter Machine and select Check Chips Count to see how many chips your Sim has left.
Whenever you are done playing and you want to cash out, click on the Chips Converter Machine again and select Withdraw Simoleons.
π Black Jack
Go to buy mode and search for Black Jack Table - place it in your casino venue.
Black Jack Rules
Before the dealing begins, each player places a bet in chips.
Card Values/Scoring:
An ace can be worth 1 or 11, this will always be in favor of the player. Face cards are worth 10 and any other card is its pip value.
The Game:
The player(s) attempts to beat the dealer by getting a count as close to 21 as possible, without going over 21.
You can also click the Black Jack Table and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.
How To Use the Table
Make sure there is a dealer behind the table first and foremost. If there is not a dealer present you can click on the table and select Hire Dealer.
Once the dealer is in place, click on the table and select Play Blackjack.
You will get several prompts in terms of betting, staying or trying your luck with more cards. At the end of the round you will either win back double of what you bet or lose your bet depending on the outcome of the round.
π Roulette
Go to buy mode and search for Roulette Table - place it in your casino venue.
Roulette Rules
First you choose the amount of chips you want to bet. Then you choose whether or not you want to place your bet on a number or a color.
Color:
You can choose to place your bet on red or black. If the ball lands on the color you placed your bet on you will get a payout that is double your bet.
Number:
You can choose to place your bet on a number between 1 and 37. If the ball lands on the number you placed your bet on you will get a payout that is your 37x your bet.
You can also click the Roulette Table and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.
How To Use the Table

Go to buy mode and search for Slots Machine - place it in your casino venue.
You can click the Slots Machine and select Rules to read up on the rules in-game.
How To Use the Slots Machine
First you choose the amount of chips you want to feed into the machine. Each time you roll the wheels it costs 5 chips, which equals 50 Simoleons.
Each time you win the Chips you win will go straight to your Sim, while the Chips you fed into the Machine will stay in the machine until you are either all out of Chips or you stop playing.
Once you stop playing, the remaining chips in the machine will go straight to your Sim.
π Basemental Drugs Integration
Gambling Addiction
As long as you have an up-to-date version of Basemental Drugs installed, this feature will function immediately.
Any Sim can get addicted to gambling. They will first get a pre-addiction buff that lets you know that they are really into gambling. If they stop gambling and wait until that buff runs out they won't get addicted.
If they keep on playing they will eventually get addicted to gambling, though. I am sure you are all familiar with how addiction works with Basemental Drugs, and this is based on that same system so I am not gonna go too in-depth on that here.
Gambling Addicts Support Group
This works more or less like the Addicts Anonymous feature in Basemental Drugs, but it is not a skill. Think of it more as a tool to get your Sims get rid of their addiction faster.
You can find the Gambling Support Group under the Travel tab on your Sims phone.
There are no Sponsees that will call your Sim up, but your Sim can attend meetings to help them through their gambling craving.
Compatibility to Come
The next release of Basemental Drugs will include a functionality for legalizing gambling on a region by region basis, very much the same way you can legalize Cannabis now.
πͺ Basemental Gangs Integration
Integration to Come
The main reason I started working on this mod was because of Basemental Gangs, as I really want to have illegal gambling as a potential racket for gangs.
Once the next release of Basemental Drugs is out with the legalizing and criminalizing gambling on a region by region basis, I can properly start working on this with Basemental Gangs.
I am sure it will bring a new level of depth to running gangs, along with the other things I have in store for that mod.
Venue List
To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Universal Venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.
Basemental Gambling Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)
- Delete all the old Basemental Gambling files from your Mods folder.
- Download the Basemental Gambling zip file.
- Unzip the Basemental Gambling zip file.
- Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Gambling in your Mods folder.
- Delete the Basemental Gambling zip file.
- Delete your localthumbcache.package

I've legalized gambling in my sims region but when I click on the conversion machine to get chips it still says that gambling is not legal in the region and won't allow me to convert cash for chips. I have the most updated version of all the mods and venues.

The best way to figure it out is to try with just the Basemental Mods installed. Put your other mods in a temporary folder and donβt overwrite your save when testing

I recorded a video for you in Sims so you can see whats happening with the tables. I'm not sure if there any other mods I have conflicting maybe? Usually your stuff has no issues, like I said, you do create fantastic work. :)

Sorry for the late reply, but the only reason I click again, is because I do wait and nothing happens. So I click the BlackJack table, no activity bubble comes up on the side, but the sim moves to the table. Sim waves at the dealer, nothing happens. Wait wait... nothing nothing... click again; then the bet will *sometimes* come up (this is where that multi-click has to happen because nothing happens) it doesn't always come up so I click again, and wait, and again, wait, until it finally does. I place a bet *when it finally comes up, then wait for the dealer; then I get the prompt for the blackjack number (hit or stand), I click whatever option, then wait, and wait wait wait... nothing... It never tells me if I win or not. I'm not like, multi-clicking at once, this is like 5 clicks over several minutes... I wait... wait... then if nothing is happening I click again... its not clickclickclickclick like that lol I do wait. I've been playing for so long, I know when I click and it doesn't come up, and I have to click multiple times for it to come up, theres something up with my game or the mod. Really not trying to be a bother, just trying to help in case this issue comes up for anybody else.

Try to be patient after clicking once. It should (and does) only really require one click. I reckon clicking multiple times might increase laggy behavior

Love all of your work! I know this is a newish mod, so I just want to make a note. When you sit down at a blackjack or roulette table, it takes like 5 clicks before a menu for the bet pops up; I did get the options for bet on color or number, and the prompts for the blackjack cards, but then it never tells me if I win or not. The slots work fine, its just the tables that look a little funky. Again, thank you for all your work!!
