Merry Xmas to all, and a happy new... poll!
🕑 Added 2021-12-24 09:03:21 +0000 UTCIt's Xmas time again. Time for spending some time with your family and loved ones, get stuffed with Xmas'y foods and candy for a week and a half and start with a clean slate and easily broken new years resolutions as soon as we enter into 2022.
I want to take some time right now to reflect on 2021. It has been quite the year. We still got the pandemic raging on, and an seemingly never ending cascading storm of shitty things happening left right and center, but it has also had it's moments. I know some of the best ones for me, apart from time spent with my lovely family and all that entails, has been linked to what I've created over here, and you guys.
The mod has evolved quite a lot in 2021. Now we can host and attend raves, we got more strains of weed, more pills, more drugs, aspirations, different brands of tobacco, a totally revamped and improved prison system, improved buying and selling, a bunch of new gangs opportunities... to mention but a few things that has been introduced these past 12 months.
I truly cherish and love working on and constantly improve the mod(s), and to be quite honest, it is all thanks to you. Each and every one of you enable me to do what I love doing every single day, and I am eternally grateful for it! I also feel blessed for the Discord Server, the amazing team that helps out over there, providing support and keeping things in order, and the fact that I have that platform to be able to talk to you guys directly. I feel genuinely lucky to have gotten to know a few of you through that platform, and I am looking forward to get to know even more of you down the line.
Long emotional rant nearly over now, let's just blame it on not having thanksgiving where I am from so I hijacked Xmas eve to send some thanks your way instead. Just know that I am incredibly grateful for your continuous support and that I think you are all awesome.
Now that is said and done, I have a lot of stuff planned for 2022, and I thought you could help me out choosing what to start working on as the first feature of the new year. I hope and expect to implement all of these features in the coming year, but whichever of these gets the most votes by January 1st I will start working on for the first release of the year.

More social interactions related to drugs
For this feature I am thinking stuff like AA, NA, interventions, friends and family talking about loved ones drug use, between themselves and to the Sim using drugs. I am also thinking along the lines of NPC's marked as users of drugs autonomously encouraging non users to partake in drugs, and so on and so forth.
Features centered around teens and parents
There's already the forced rehab feature, and parents catching their teens while high. I think this can be improved upon, but I would also like to implement stuff like clear eyes, stashing drugs underneath their beds, brushing teeth to remove smell of tobacco/cannabis, peer pressure from friends, bad influences at school, degraded performance at school, and more chatty social interactions regarding drug consumption between teen friends and teens and their parents. Perhaps even tap into stuff from the Parenthood pack.
Ketamine
Not much needs to be said here, other than implementing a new drug is always a big endeavor, as it needs to tap into a bunch of things, like fluctuating prices, buying, selling, using, sharing, new buffs, new objects, and the whole nine yards. I've been wanting to add a dissociative drug for a long time, and what better drug to implement in that regard than Ketamine?
Drug Parties
I am thinking this could be events that you would plan in the event planner, like any other party... but with drugs. Events and situations tend to be a lot of work, and I am sure this wouldn't be an exception to that rule.

Alright here me out. I know it's not realistic but "Vampire drugs". Like in every form of media humans drinking vamp blood makes them like fall in love or something. Vampires should be able to do that in sims.

I think you should add more organised crime activities such as gambling, killing sims, prostitution other things and you should create a hidden door so police cant find you.
thank you for providing the option to us to vote on things! you are so creative, and so generous to allow us the ability to be involved. i missed this voting session but cant wait to do the next when it comes around. just for fun - i would have chosen social interactions. i would really love the ability to invite another sim to smoke a joint/blunt/bong with me and have my sims pass it back and forth! happy simming all!!

I would just like a hippy aspiration, I know you don't support sims being drugged out, but I would get a kick out of a lazy drug addic trait so the sim will continously act in that manner without player action.

This was such a hard poll to vote on, and honestly I want all of these things, so I'll just comment here and say whatever gets implemented I will be happy with, I have been gagging for ket in the game for ages though, so selected that. I love the mod!

At a minimum, even if you do focus on teens and parents, please put in at least a few social interations, say between partners or good friends to discuss concern about drug use. Its literally soooo weird that this is missing and its a huge bit of game play that really needs slotting in, even if you go into more details with teens and parents. Also don't stint on allowing parents to react to drug use in their children who are young adult and above. Especially if those children are parents themselves. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

I would LOVE drugs to be involved in teen parties in some way. I wish the Sims 4 allowed options for having a 'successful' party - then you could choose to have requirements from a 'good' track and a 'bad' track and the 'bad' track involves drugs.

I think these are all great ideas and I am excited to see where basemental goes for 2022! I was just playing and had an idea that you could maybe add to the list if you ever run out of ideas or whatever...you know the video station? Maybe do some drug-related interactions with that...marijuana strain reviews, etc. Either way, thanks for bringing us this mod! It is my favorite. Happy holidays!

I wouldn't play this game if it weren't for Basementals. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to bring so much entertainment value to an otherwise pretty boring base game. It can't be easy to keep on top of things and bring new ideas and updates and I thank you. Would suggest almost like the sex interactions with wicked whims with an option to join others that are smoking (or doing lines) at a party or other social event and maybe another option to judge instead of join

I want to say that after reading this post, I appreciate your work even more & Happy holidays! However, these are all great ideas for the mod and I would like to see all of this incorporated into basemental later down the line.... Basically, it's extremely hard to choose/vote on just one 😅
