Status Report

As I am sure some of you are aware of, as I have mentioned it quite a few times lately, I have been in the process of trying to sell our house for the last 3 weeks. This has been as mentally and physically draining as can be, as we needed to get the house on the market and hopefully sell it quickly to avoid having 2 houses and 2 mortgages and all that. So, these 3 weeks have consisted of moving furniture, spackling holes in drywalls, painting walls, painting window frames, overhauling the entire garden, refilling gravel and cutting shrubbery, and that list goes on. To top that off, add two young kids to the equation that needs love, care and attention, and a day job (which is in its most hectic period of the year right now) and the modding. That has left me with approximately 2-3 hours of sleep each night for these aforementioned weeks.
But, enough whining, (actually it was not really meant to come across as whining, more to put things into perspective and clarify why it’s been impossible for me to be as hands on with the BMMods as I tend to be under normal circumstances), the good news is…. *drum-roll* We sold the house! Seems like all the inhumane hard work did pay off in the end, and we couldn’t be happier. There is of course more stuff to deal with in relation to the sale and taking over the new house and stuff, but the insane part is at least over and done with.
This will enable me to finally get more time to work on the mods again as well. I have been driving out to a temporary set up workspace at like 11PM each night and tried my best to work on the mods for the last 3 weeks, but it’s been hard to plug away for an extensive amount of hours with full focus when I have been working from 8AM to 10PM prior to sitting down. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to work on stuff properly without a head full of chaos and limbs sore from manual labor.
So, now that is said, I want to fill you all in on what I am currently working on.
I am aware that there are still a couple of bugs left over from the last patch, still some items that does not get deducted from the inventory when performing certain interactions, and all of these kinks will be sorted out in the upcoming update. For those of you that have been supporting my work for a long time, I am sure you can remember that I started overhauling everything a while back, as the mod was riddled with outdated syntax and minor errors (mainly errors that didn’t cause any hiccups or issues with gameplay, but still... errors). The only feature I never got around to fix was the cannabis feature, as it’s by far the biggest feature in the Drugs mod. Well… That is what I am doing right now, I am cleaning all of that up, fixing outdated syntax, making tweaks and upgrading the tuning and code for how that works. Chances are you won’t see a huge difference, but the mod will be completely free for minuscule errors, and it will enable me to add features to cannabis a lot more quickly when everything is properly organized and cleaned up.
I am not a big fan of giving ETA’s as it tends to turn into one of two things; either you don’t manage to make the deadline, or you rush the deadline and deliver something that isn’t really finished. But, all I can say is; now I have a bunch more time on my hands, and I am working to get this out as quickly as possible to all of you.
And last but not least, a huge thanks to all of you who are constantly supporting the work that I do, I have nothing but love for each and everyone of you. 💙

I feel like mental illnesses would be a whole other mod, but it'd be interesting to have it work with basemental. For example, a psychedelic trip taken by a sim with depression could come out of the trip with a new sense of reality, whether for better or worse as either could happen.

I know it's a bit outside of what the mod already does... but have you thought about adding like depression + antidepressants? You already have an anxiety med technically just without pre-existing anxiety.

It does suck. But, worth it in the end. And, like in a few months time after you are done with it you won't even remember how sucky the process was :)
This progress report makes me sad. I need to sell my house too and reading all that reminds me of what I will have to go through to do it. ಥ_ಥ

Im not complaining or anything, this mod has come a long way and is more than most mods out there and I am a hundred percent happy but sometimes its just super hard and buggy to sell anything fr fr. I'm so happy you and your family are moving along in this life journey though. Best wishes.
