The Unveiling
🕑 Added 2019-03-05 21:25:03 +0000 UTCTime to announce what I am currently sinking all my time into these days. This is so extensive that it should definitely be considered a new mod in its own right, but it will be an optional addition to Basemental Drugs, and as such it will require Basemental Drugs to function.
The mod also requires the Get To Work expansion pack, and I am going to run a contest on my Discord Server in a couple of days where the winner gets a copy of Get To Work. So, if you aren’t on my Discord Server already, you should definitely head over there.
Either way, with no further ado, what I am working on is.. drumroll and stuff...
Basemental Gangs will be the next step up for moving from the semi-big-leagues to start building a crew and expand your Drug Empire. I will explain some of the features of the mod more in-depth in the following days, as there is a whole bunch of them, but I can let you know about some key features already.
- Four different gangs to choose from
- You can have gang wars with rival gangs
- Gang Members can sell drugs for you
- You can send gang members on various missions
- You can purchase your own gang HQ
I am still fleshing out the core functionalities, but I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel in regards to that. Still, there is quite a long way to go until it is all done and dusted. However, as soon as the mod is ready to be uploaded in its most basic state (which will still be packed with a bunch of features) - I will upload it to Patreon for you guys to try it out.
Since this is quite the time consuming task, I will not add any major new features for Basemental Drugs until I am “done” with the work on Basemental Gangs, I will however upload minor bug fixes for Basemental Drugs if needed.
What I am going to do, though, is to consistently update you lovely Patrons with progress reports on how the Gangs mod is coming along, and also go into more details about the different features of the mod.
Note: I am not taking any suggestions on Basemental Gangs at this time as there is too much stuff to implement already, and I don’t want to overcomplicate things at this stage.

Super excited! Question though; Will this be similar to the Extreme Violence mod that has been so popular lately? If so will it interfere? They have Gangs as well but mainly violence based - nothing super complex like Drug Empires. Super awesome idea, 10/10. Excited to see all the updates!

I'm curious if the gangs will populate themselves based on who is in your game file or if you will create npc gang leaders that we get to knock off and assume control of their gang. I've been using the City Living groups for something similar but this sounds much more efficient.

YES!!! Thank you so much for working on this. I recently removed Sacrificial's violence mod (which has gangs,) because it's poorly done and forced suicide on my sims. I really wanted realistic gangs, since making a gang using GT groups just wasn't cutting it.

If you got those from being addicted you can always send your Sims to rehab, or just remove their addictions by typing in bm_r_ad in your cheats console

Exactly what I've been waiting for. Although Sacrificial has something similar, it's not my style. Also Triplis probably has some insights into some elements you'd be using I'd think. I'd like to see an option to expand the enemies list beyond rival gangs. If you can mark vampires as rivals for instance, that's even a whole new story line to expand on. I might bump my patronage up for this, thanks!
