What's to come?
🕑 Added 2018-10-11 20:48:52 +0000 UTC Time for a little bring-you-all-up-to-speed with what I am working on right now, and some thoughts about the upcoming November patch.It has been a little while since the last updated version of the mod, due to a couple of things. First of all, what I am working on is a huge implementation and all of it needs to be in place before I can upload it, even at an early stage or else it will just feel broken. Secondly, real life has been ridiculously hectic the last couple of weeks, which means that the ambitious new feature has enabled me to get a healthy 3-4 hours of sleep every night for the last week and a half. Which, honestly, is all good, I reckon things will get back to normal starting next week.
That being said, what is this new feature you might ask?
*Drumroll, and cue the suspense*...
Swat Team Raids and money laundering. That's right!
Dealing drugs in high volumes will have an increased risk this time around, unless you are good at laundering your drug money or bribing the police, that is.
I won't go into all the details surrounding this feature, I'll just let you know that it will most likely add a lot of fun to your gameplay. The raids are already in place and are working like a charm (at least from the umpteenth test runs I have had with them when tweaking things), and the money laundering system is also falling into place now. What remains is adding all the hidden functionalities to the drugs and drug dealing interactions that will affect both the laundering of money and increased chances of getting raided.
So, stay tuned for that!
And last but not least; I am sure most of you are aware by now that there will be a new and extensive game patch set to arrive the 16th of November. Besides the fact that it will introduce celebrities, and that will probably be really cool and go well with Basemental Drugs, there will also be a 100% chance of all script mods not working after the patch drops. This is due to an upgrade of the Python version used in the game from Python 3.3 to Python 3.7. How much of an headache it will be to fix it for us modders remains to see, but all signs points to that it won't be a huge deal to recompile the scripts in Python 3.7 (at least for mods that doesn't rely to heavily on complicated scripts).
There will also, very likely be changes to the syntax of the tuning files which needs to be fixed, so it might take a day or two to get it all up and running again.
"So, what can I do? I need my script mods?!!" you might ask.
a) Start up a new game, play vanilla until your favorite mods are updated.
b) Log off Origin a day or two before the patch drops, play offline until all your favorite mods are updated.
No reason to go into panic mode or nothing just yet.

But you should also expect not to play your saved games until you can update any broken mods, unless you go offline like suggested above. Script mods are usually the only kind that breaks but sometimes CC can break too.

Best thing is to create desktop folder title it whatever you wish. Inside of this folder I always copy my mods folder, save folder and tray files folder from the Sims 4 folder. Just in case. That is what I do.
might be a dumb question but i’m new to using mods in sims 4 and i’ve never been around in the mod community during a game patch so what should i do to prepare for the patch regarding mods? if anyone could help i’d appreciate it, thanks.

Will there be a way to prepare for a raid? Like having an informant, or if you have cameras in your home and a secret/reinforced door reduces the raid’s odds of success?

No, it has not. Does it say "missing 5" and you got 10? That basically means you need 15

Hi Basemental This sound amazing cant wait but I wanted to know has anything been reported with the mod I am unable to cure any drugs in the jars it keeps telling i dont have enough of the specific drugs but I have over the amount to cure

*Raises hand* Dumb question, can some explain to me how to play offline? I know I can toggle the option on Origin but it kicks back to online once I reopen Origin. How do I get it to stay offline so I can play my game until all scripts are updated?

This sounds awesome, looking forward to it all. Your mod works so beautifully, be it base game, with packs or alongside other mods, thank you! Keeping fingers crossed that ea supply modders with info needed in patch to keep going without complication, assume the backlash wouldn't be worth their while if not. Hope your sleep improves soon.

Yes, vanilla as in No Mods. Not as in, No Game Packs. Just make sure to put all your mods in a temporary folder and start up a new save to not mess with your mods and saved info in them.
