There is quite a few people that mainly use the alcohol part of the mod, and seeing that it was pretty basic, I thought it would be good to give it a slight overhaul. I will of course eventually add more to this, but this is definitely a good start. I have tried to take some of the feedback I have gotten on alcohol into account and included some of it. There are also a few other changes you can read up on below...
How it works
Alcohol
The optional package "Basemental Real Drink Names.package" changes the names of the juice drinks in game to real drink names. I have however tried to stay clear of brand names and also tried to stay true to the Sims lore. As an example; McDillian's Single Nect is most likely based on Macallan Single Malt, so with this package it is called McDilian's Single Malt. Example #2; The drink Ridgeport is most likely based on a Manhattan, Bridgeport is a town in Sims 3, so the name is changed to Bridgeport.
The diminishing effects on alcohol works like this; if you get wasted and stop drinking, your Sim will eventually get less wasted, after a couple hours your Sim will be sobering up. If your Sim stops drinking after he or she gets drunk your Sim will eventually be sobering up.
If your Sim is drunk, wasted, less wasted or sobering up he or she can send Drunk Texts. Simply click on the phone and select "Drunk Text" while in those states. The replies you might get in return is dependant on the additional buffs your Sim might get from being drunk. Use this with caution, though as it might cause a relationship loss with the Sim you're drunk texting. (Note: This feature caused an occasional LE for me when trying it out, I do believe it has been sorted out now, but if you happen to get an LE pertaining to dramanode schedulers and single sim resolvers, please let me know about it).
Cannabis
The new strains are still quite the new feature, and as such there are obviously a bunch of things that needs sorting out with them. Like Selling. The plan is (as I have mentioned earlier) to add selling of the hybrids at the later levels of Weed Dealing, but Sour Diesel is now sellable from level 1. You can also sell 2 Sour Diesel ziplocks at the same time from level 4 now. So, it works like the other 3 base strains.
NPC Chooser
Whenever you selected a specific Selvadorada Drug Dealer through the NPC chooser, closed the game, re-opened it, you had to add the dealer back in. That is fixed now, so you will only need to add the dealer once.
Cocaine High Level Clients
Time to earn some big bucks! I have managed to take some hours out of my day to sit down and play properly with the mod to figure out if my ideas work as good in practice as in theory. And I have started with the focus on Cocaine Dealing. Cocaine Dealing was always meant to be highly profitable, especially with the high level clients. Turned out, it wasn't really insanely profitable. The changes I have made to it now should help a lot in that regard. The time restriction for selling and hooking up with the Selvadorada Dealer has been reduced drastically, and the prices on selling to the High Level Clients has been increased drastically. I guess the thing that needs to be added soon is Police Raids to your home lots.
Dealing and Skill Books
In short, the dealing skill books were way too cheap considering what they provide you with. Even though it is a skill on paper, it is more of an active career in functionality. The prices has been upped accordingly.
Whenever you sell ziplock bags of whatever to your customers, the bags appeared in their inventory along with one dose of the drug (so they would use it autonomously). This turned into a bit of a problem. Say you sold to one customer 100 times, you could basically play as that customer, sell 100 bags through your inventory and become super rich with no effort. Hence I removed the appearing of the ziplock bags in their inventory and only left the dose appearing there intact.
Installation Instructions
- Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.
- Download Basemental Drugs v1.4.1.61
- Unzip Basemental Drugs v1.4.1.61
- Place the unzipped files in your Mods folder.
- Remember to delete your localthumbcache.package
- If you experience issues with Buying or Selling - place bothofthe files directly in your Mods folder.
