This was supposed to be a minor little addition to the mod, but it turned out to be a whole lot of work due to the mod being quite complex as it is right now, and there were a bunch of interactions that needed alteration to their tuning for this to work properly. I have stress-tested it all and everything should work properly now, so for all of you that have requested an anti-drug/straight edge trait for a while. Good news, now it is up and running.
How it works
Straight Edge Trait
Add the trait to your Sims in CAS. This trait will conflict with the NPC Drug Dealer trait (obviously). A Sim with the Straight Edge trait cannot do any drugs, buy any drugs, sell any drugs, share any drugs, make any drugs or drink bar drinks.. etc. You get it.
They will also get quite infuriated if you try to sell them drugs, and this will result in a massive relationship loss between the Straight Edger and the Dealer. If there are other Sims in the proximity who are Straight Edge, both of the Straight Edgers will receive a happy buff as they like to be in each others company.
Fixes
- Drug Dealing
The friendship needed with your NPC Dealer to ask to stop selling drugs has been reduced drastically. It didn't quite make sense that you needed to be best buds with your Dealer to stop selling drugs.
As you might know, I previously removed the option to sell drugs to family members. Well, seems I forgot to add in Poor Quality Ziplock Bags of Amphetamine to this. Now this is also sorted out.
- Police Busts
In the last version the police uniform was missing from the package. That has been added back in. So if your cops suddenly looked like semi-invisible crash test dummies, they should look like cops again now.
- Ayahuasca
I received several reports on Ayahuasca not working properly. After a while I figured out this was all from Sims with the Carefree trait. It is fixed now so it should work for Sims with this trait as well.
Installation Instructions
- Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.
- Download Basemental Drugs v1.2.8
- Unzip Basemental Drugs v1.2.8
- Place the unzipped files in your Mods folder.
- Remember to delete your localthumbcache.package
- If you experience issues with Buying or Selling - place bothofthe files directly in your Mods folder.
- Any other issues, get in touch at my Discord Server

Hmm weird. You are the first to have this problem it seems like. Could you try to run the game with only Basemental Drugs in your mods folder (put the rest of your mods in a temp folder) start up a new game and see if that solves your issues. Both with Ayahuasca and the edibles

A pink color? There is nothing in the tuning that should make that happen to be honest. Was this with or without the Carefree trait? And did you update the mod properly? Like delete the 2 previous files before installing the new ones

The brownies only work if you have the Get To Work expansion, the other edibles should work with basegame, though. Did you try making some of them?

Yes. At least level 3 in either of the 4 Dealing Skills.

Not at all. You need at least level 3 in one of the Dealing Skills to access the Dark Web. It has been like that for months, really. With this version? That was an issue with 1.2.7 and was patched in 1.2.7.02 and should not be an issue with 1.2.8. Did you actually delete the old Basemental Drugs files before updating to the newest version?

Okay. Idk if it’s just me or what, but for some reason my sims keep ending up with a shit ton of speed in their inventory. Regardless of which household I play with. Any idea why?

With straight edge trait they still pour and order drinks but cant drink them. Is there a way to stop that behavior? If i turn off their autonomy while clicking them, does it stop that? Theyre wasting their household funds lol. By continuing to buy drink after drink... but not being able to drink it lol

I just sent you a private message on how to fix this. I reckon I'll also add in a way to buy it from the computer along with the ingredients in a future update (for the people that seems to keep loosing it)

My sim just received the pill presser and so I placed it in his basement and then when I had him buy the ingredients the presser disappeared. I cannot find it anywhere (his inventory, family inventory, or the build/buy catalogue. :( Very awesome mod however

Hi. Is there a way to buy multiple bottles of pills and bags of weed from a dealer? Could you have it so it opens a shop window like it would if you buy items on the computer ? Reason being that trying to nail a dealer down with the Sims' "iffy" AI to buy multiple items is a bit of a pain. Thanks for the mod. It is great and I hope some talented artist runs with it and makes animations like snorting coke off a Sim's body, etc and making it even more fun.
