Complex flowers part2 (VIDEO TUTORIAL)
🕑 Added 2022-08-01 17:00:09 +0000 UTCHappy month!
I am back after a long covid period during July and managed to record few more stuff for August for the flower series. In this one we gonna discuss keyframe offsetting and fields and create more procedural flower structures.
Let me know if any questions, cheers!

Hi Thanos ! Thank you for your amazing tutorial :) I have a question about the MoSpline : When I duplicate the branches (MoSpline) on the trunks, the branches don't follow the trunk, especially when I come back to frame 0. Even when the animation is playing, they don't follow exactly the MoSpline Do you have some tricks to fixing this ? thank you :)

Thank you! No clue! Please get the project files and see if that works better for u. Try also not sweeping but do it in render time eg. in octane is via octane tag (render as hair).

Hi Thanos! Amazing tutorial as always. Could you tell me why it breaks my aanimation when i put mospline in sweep. I put sweep on 0 coordinates. but once i put the stem mospline in sweep it breaks all other splines, they get tangled. And also when I tried to use sweep for 2 and 3 branches of leaves it was so heavy that cinema never managed to go to the 2 frame. Thanks in advance

thanks bud! i didnt add dynamics did I? if u try to create a dynamic type of plant, thats not the way yes. Needs constraints etc, way more complex than this setup :) Try increasing follow position and they will kinda stay in place but again it needs a different approach which c4d is not very capable atm

awesome walkthrough man! question about adding dynamcis to the last bit of sphere on the branch, when I did it, the spheres is no longer attaching to the branch is there a way to solve it?

I am sure there are more sophisticated stuff out there, but very kind of you to say so :)

This is the best tutorial I've ever seen

Glad you found this useful. I ll examine xparticles part as well soon and u can compare. I started this series cause i was playing with Taoaio / Forester trying to see what is easier/better.

I did really enjoy this. Loved how simple it was just to use deformers stacked with time offsets. On that side I learned that C4D is still so powerful on it's own and can use certain aspects in my workflow. But I wonder it this might have been easier using X-Particles? I would like to have a go and recreated this using it to see, quite curious now.

thanks a lot my friend

These look amaze-balls. Glad you are back on the mend!

hehe, they are pretty powerful! A weird mix between mograph, fake dynamics, resample. But i thought u were Houdini full time by now :)

Man I never use mosplines, I think I need to start haha
Thanos Kagkalos
cheers bud

good to see you are back! Hope no lasting issues!
Thanos Kagkalos
indeed! and they have so many usages

Good stuff man, I gotta use mosplines more, tons of power and control!

hope you feel good....
