The thing about modern american animation like bojack is that because it is made with digital puppets, the characters are never off model, never exaggerated, and it loses the soul that animation generally gets from over-exaggeration. Bojack has great character designs, set designs, etc. but its all going to fall flat when something happens and the characters are unable to move or react or do anything in a satisfying, big way. I had the same feelings as Ray for a long time, and did not know how to express it, its totally a real thing.
