If you specifically attempted to change the settings so that you wouldn't encounter set-damage moves and it gave you one anyway, take a Mulligan. The loss is not on you, at that point.
I say ignore the loss, and proceed as normal. When you have enough mons to make a completely new team, you have to fight that trainer again if possible with a fresh crew.
