Hello!
This is my first monthly report and I got some interesting updates for you.
But firstly, thank you all for the support. I wouldn’t be able to continue without you.
Now, let’s talk about some changes I made in tier rewards. It was several days ago, so newer patrons may not even know about old rewards. Still, I want to be as transparent as possible with you.
The former Vigorous tier rewards were:
- Receive pack of 5 edits twice a month
- Receive the edits a week before it is released for everybody.
Now Vigorous tier rewards are:
- Early access to all content I make
- Access to alternative versions and WIPs
I made this change for several reasons. First off, I plan to make more content other than background edits. For example, see the loading screen mod. Therefore, limiting the reward to only background edits looks unfair to me, so I changed it to “all content”. The problem is, different content requires a different amount of time and effort, so it’s difficult to predict exactly how much stuff I will be able to release every month. I will try my best to not making you regret your investment, though :)
I will keep the release schedule the same (two packs per month), but you can also expect several small in-between updates. This way, you not only receive some of the content earlier, but I also will be able to see you feedback sooner. Also, I won’t time-gate the content as strictly as before. Patrons will still receive everything earlier, but without definite time limit like “a week”.
The Focused and Courageous tiers mostly remain the same. You still can be sure to receive 2 (or more) exclusive bonus edits and lore packs. But I plan some changes for Courageous tier, I think it needs something-something to make it really shine, especially now that the “Loading Screens” mod also dips in the lore territory.
That’s all for the changes, now let’s talk about my plans.
- Don’t worry, I will continue to work on the background replacers. Now, as number of edits are somewhat balanced between locations (though Warrens are still in the lead) I want to find time to fix some of the earlier ones, that came out not exactly like I’d want them.
- I also want to eventually try my hand in editing curios – that should be a pretty interesting task.
- I’m still looking for responses to the Loading Screen mod, but even if it is proven not to be popular, I want to bring it closer to finished state (with at least with 3 screens per main location).
- I also have several more potential ideas for Darkest Dungeon, but currently it’s too early for details.
