A restless night follows a restless day, as the events of the past twenty-four hours toss and turn in your head. Tina escaped UP the mountain, a possibility you failed to consider. The road to the summit was impassable just weeks before (its snowpack was at record levels), but once you knew an SUV was involved the contingency should have been accounted for. Mistaking that someone as heavy and round as Tina would only roll downhill was going to cost you. It had already cost Bernadette her life.
After ascending up and over the mountain, Tina's options were many. She could have driven north or south along the coast or utilized one of several small airports in the vicinity to fly virtually anywhere in the US. The latter was unlikely, but if Tina had accomplices beyond Bernadette it's possible a ticket was pre-purchased (or perhaps two, considering her girth).
Despite having breadcrumbs to follow, you choose not to. Tina earned her escape and the right to lower the boom--whenever and wherever that may be. Your thirst for vengeance for Anastasia's betrayal tickled in the back of your throat for years before it was recently quenched, but you feel no want for revenge against Tina.
All you feel is emptiness.
To quell the sensation, you turn your harem into a Sodom and Gomorrah of feasting, fattening, and fornicating. Most of your time is spent with Tabitha, the statuesque redhead whom Tina reduced to rubble in the months leading up to her departure. Michelangelo once said his sculptures already existed within the block and he just had to remove the superfluous material, but Tina's force-feeding sessions had buried Tabitha's well-chiseled hourglass under so much superfluous material you doubted even the Renaissance master could find her. Your probings certainly bare no evidence of the Goddess' former glory.
Although you regularly take advantage of Tina's parting gift, Tabitha isn't the only girl you make time for. Debbie, the teenage runaway you "rescued," often joins you for dinner and, like most sheltered strays, is eager to please and appreciative of the attention. The once diminutive blonde is now far from diminutive, but at 200 pounds she's the "skinniest" of your harem by a wide margin and the only one still capable of fitting into trendy attire. A favorite activity becomes ordering Debbie dresses a size too small, then feeding her out of them over the courses of a decadent candlelit meal. Sometimes it happens during the appetizer, sometimes it takes multiple plates of tiramisu, but you don't leave the table until a button has popped or a seem has split. By the time you reach her basement bedchamber, the dress is usually in tatters. The morning after, a new one is ordered, one size up, in anticipation of your next "date."
And that, indeed, is what they seem like. With quaint charm and an easy smile, Debbie is the kind of gal you might like to have dated, pre-harem, had you not been saddled with so many expectations. You can only imagine the headlines had you wined and dined her at Spago or Atelier Crenn: "Playboy Plates a Pig" or perhaps "Billionaire Bags Bumpkin Blimp." Your experience with Veronica Tate was bad enough, and the tabloids didn't know half of it.
Your other cellar-dwellers, Anastasia and Morgan, don't deserve much attention and you don't give it to them. Sure, you delight in informing a barely mobile Morgan about your recent meeting with her police partner and how you've been eliminated as a suspect in her disappearance, and you relish tickle-torturing Anastasia now that the former Russian spy is a quivering 800-pound blob, but you refuse to indulge either with the carnal satisfaction or culinary delights you do Debbie and Tabitha. You simply grow them like you would mushrooms, keeping them in the dark and feeding them lots of shit.
As spring transitions to summer, your girls are fatter than ever, and Tina's second shoe has yet to drop. You should be happy, but the empty feeling remains. Sure, it's forgotten whenever you're plunging your manhood deep within Tabitha's fleshy folds or ripping off what remains of Debbie's dresses, but in the quiet moments, it niggles at you the same way Tina used to.
Enough is enough! You need a new project to get your mind off Tina. On your last trip into town, you noticed it was swarming with a bevy of beauties who had recently emerged from their winter cocoons to walk, jog, and picnic in the park. Perhaps it was time to fill your harem's vacancies. You also have ideas for inventions to improve the harem's fun factor. Well, at least for you. The summer months would be the perfect time to tinker.
