RE: Wonder Woman - a hero designed to be dominated

It invited folks to opine on which of several comic book super-gals “is most LIKELY to get fat.”
The choices included characters such as Power Girl, Starfire, Raven, Poison Ivy, Talia al-Ghul, etc. He also included a suggested rationale for each, but my sense is that he intended both the choice and the reasoning as something left open to individual opinion.
As I explained in a comment on that poll, my choice is Wonder Woman, but my reason why is a bit meta.
The real-life creative underpinnings for the Wonder Woman character are deeply steeped in bondage and submission kinks. From day one, Diana was more or less built to be the ultimate “switch” fantasy.

As plenty of us around here understand, these types of power-play kinks tend to blend quite readily with a lot of feedism stuff. I've rambled about it elsewhere before; the synergistic crossover just seems kinda natural to me.
For example, consider Wonder Woman’s main “kryptonite” (amusingly dubbed “Aphrodite’s Law”): she immediately loses all her super powers if—gasp!—her bracers are shackled together by a man?
And then that oh-so-conveniently leaves lying around for grabs this handy magic lasso with the power of compulsion. Note that, despite how it is most commonly portrayed, it’s not exactly a lasso “of truth.” Rather, Wonder Woman just frequently uses it to “compel” folks to tell the truth while neglecting its broader applications. But not always…
No, William Marston especially, and other, later creative contributors to the Wonder Woman character, knew what they were doing. It’s very much not by coincidence that this most powerful of women travels equipped with all the tools necessary for her own captor-dictated fetishized sexual victimization.
Presented with such tempting circumstances, it’d be hard to resist taking advantage of the situation. There’s certainly precedent: both in “canon” material…
…and in material perhaps somewhat less canon…

But rather than exploiting Diana as a, uh…curious form of transportation…or merely stripping the gal down for some quick fun, my inclination would be to slather insult on top of defeat in a more permanent and prominent manner: by consigning this once-mighty demigod princess to a future of helpless overindulgence—steadily, irreversibly perverting her beautiful if no-longer-super physique into laughably ruined obesity. “Etta Candy” indeed.

One of my favorite weight gain stories follows exactly that premise: frustrated long-time second fiddle sidekick Steve Trevor exploits both the lasso and “Aphrodite’s Law” to sabotage Diana, slowly and progressively transforming her from a mighty and stoic superheroine into his own soft, weak, lazy, docile, petulant and humiliated potbellied little plaything. I’ve mentioned the story and posted links to it elsewhere before, but if by some chance you’ve never encountered it, then I highly recommend checking it out: “The Final Mission” by Jack Knowles. It’s not a long story, and I've had to omit some text to appease the Patreon content censors, but here’s a choice excerpt to whet your appetite.
Moments later, Wonder Woman appeared at the pool in the bikini, padding stiffly over to the chaises. Steve laughed, "you're going to pass out if you keep trying to hold in your breath and your tummy."
Wonder Woman let out a dejected sigh. As she did, her ribcage fell causing love handles to form at the top of her bikini bottom. In front, the band of the thong panties strained against their fleshy cargo. But the bikini bottoms were nowhere near as overworked as the red bra and golden falcon as they struggled to support her overflowing breasts.
"Look at me," Wonder Woman moaned, grabbing the roll of chub around her middle, "I've let myself go to pot." She tried to suck in her breath again and ran a probing hand over the still noticeable bulge where once rock hard abs had been. "I've gotten so fat, I can't even suck in my gut anymore!"
Steve was feeling cocky in more ways than one. He decided to finally give in to an impulse he'd had for a long time, to give Wonder Woman a little taste of the humiliation he'd suffered. It was time to make obvious the new state of affairs. An extra fifty pounds and less muscle tone meant that physically Wonder Woman was no longer a lean, lethal tigress, she was a chubby, cuddly kitten.
He got up from his chaise and walked around Wonder Woman in a mock inspection. When he was behind her, he gave her a sharp smack on the bottom. The impact caused tremors through the flab of her once firm gluts. Wonder Woman gasped in shock and embarrassment. "Maybe a little training is called for," he remarked with feigned thoughtfulness, "how about a little hand-to-hand?"
"Oh, come on, Steve," Wonder Woman cried, "I am still an Amazon princess, after all. You're a good little fighter and athlete, but you've never been my equal."
"Well," Steve drawled, "it might not be much of a workout for you. But I'll try to make it some challenge. Let's go."
"Okay," Wonder Woman said skeptically, "but remember you asked for it." She launched her attack. But instead of her usual graceful pounce, she managed only a clumsy lunge. At first, she tried to grab Steve in a bear hug and lift him up. Steve could sense her surprise when her flabby Amazonian muscles couldn't respond with the necessary strength to pick him up and throw him down.
Steve toyed with her, holding his power and expertise in check. Wonder Woman was left to believe that she was more in command than she was. Actually, Steve was surprised at how much of her strength and skill remained. She was still very healthy. Steve let the struggle go on. He let her wear herself out while he enjoyed grappling with her new, lush physique. [REDACTED]
Eventually, Wonder Woman grew exhausted. Her attempts became more and more feeble. Steve began to take the offensive. To tease her, he reached out and snapped the band of her bikini bottom.
"You'll pay for that," Wonder Woman gasped out as she fought for breath. She delivered what she thought would be a crushing blow, but it bounced ineffectually off Steve's abs.
"Naughty, naughty," Steve smirked, "I think I'm going to have to punish you." Steve grasped her by one of her bracelets and led her over to one of the loungers. He sat down and drew her across his lap. It was a struggle, but he managed it. Putting her across his knee, he...
It goes on. You get the idea. ;)

So, why does all that make Wonder Woman "the most LIKELY to get fat?" Because compulsory subversion of her power to the kinky desires of others is a cornerstone of her character. And at least when it comes to this "other," making her really fucking fat is exactly what I desire.
I like to imagine maybe some folks over at DeviantArt found my thoughts about all this persuasive. When I checked recently, the poll results indicated Wonder Woman had bulged into the lead…

This post is tremendous! Couldn't agree with you more on all counts. I also really appreciate the call out to Willpowerless as well! To anyone reading this comment - I cannot recommend The Final Mission to you all enough (and same w/Gaining the Wight for Saving the World, that is a very fun serial). There's something about dominating ole Diana and turning her into a submissive, powerless little blimp that checks all of my favorite boxes and then some!
