Fox by an Alcove

I've got Richard Schmid's book Alla Prima, and it had the advice in it that whenever something feels "wrong" in a painting, to fix it, because all of the elements in a painting are related to one another, so one element being off can throw off the rest of the elements, because they all relate to one another. So I tried that here, and it helped me get unstuck, but then I sort of lost my way again.
So anyway... a fox mendicant!

Thank you. I found it helpful in this situation to get me unstuck, I think he says elsewhere though that imperfections are fine, this is more about when things are obviously wrong?
Thanks!
Beautiful lighting! As much as i like Schmidt's Alla Prima, i feel that this advice is not super effective, couse sometimes imperfections makes the painting complete.
