Good To Be Back!
🕑 Added 2022-05-25 18:20:33 +0000 UTCHey guys! I hope everything is alright in your end! I’m here to announce that starting next month, payment cycle on patreon is starting again, and also talk a little about what I’m going to do from now on.
So, what’s going to happen is,,,
I don’t actually know? It is very hard for me to come with a very detailed, specific idea. With really boxed tiers and fixed rewards and consistency. I have tried. I just stop loving everything quickly and in the end it becomes a burden and something that brings me unhappiness. I am unsure as to where the problem lies, whether it is my brain, the assumed system of how things should work, or a very childish state of life in which I abandon everything that doesn’t bring me excitement. Whatever it is, the only solution I have come with is… delete all tiers except for a very basic one, the classic support/tip jar tier, and maybe a quite high one for commissions that is limited and feels fair enough for me economically that I am equally motivated to do it.
I want something that is flexible and allows me to freely change subjects of interest without feeling extremely guilty. I want to feel calm and motivated to draw whatever I want to draw at the moment, because if I don’t feel that way, I stop drawing altogether. What was happening lately was something like that: I had to do “work” for Patreon, so I didn’t draw anything that I felt motivated to do, because I didn’t want to feel guilty for not drawing Patreon stuff first, but not doing my things made me not want to draw and procrastinate, and in the end I crunched rewards in the last minute to, at least, have that posted in time.
To sum it up, my new tip jar tier will be a $2 tier that will grant you access to whatever I draw in HQ, but not attacched to any promises beyond monthly uploads of drawings. Even so, if it so happens that I don’t draw for one month, I will make the next month free as I have always been doing.
The second, bigger tier, I still have to think of. I will probably offer a b/w bust, not sure yet if traditional or digital. In the case of the first one, shipping will be included in the tier price. I’d appreciate knowing if that is something you would be interested in.
This is what I have in mind for now and what will be implemented staring the first of June. If none of this features sound interesting enough for you, I totally understand and appreciate the time you have been here with me!!
Patreon has been my only income for some years, and even though I started giving class this past 2021, due to external reasons I had to cancel them and now I only teach one kid. This is bringing me much anxiety because I feel there is never enough money to do the small stuff I do. I’m lucky enough to not have to pay for a house or food, living with my mother, but the mental draining of this situation at my age only makes things worse, and even as I am quite desperate, I cannot for the life of me draw stuff for other people at the prices I used to. I’m quite lost. Drawing what I love at the moment is the only thing I can do.
Thank you for sticking by up until this point. Thanks as well for reading, and if you decide to continue supporting me despite all of this, huge, massive thanks to you!!! 🥲 I will be working on cleaning up the page before June and then I will probably make another, shorter post about the new tier and all that jazz!!
