0.5.5 Devlog - Inching closer ...
🕑 Added 2024-03-08 17:44:39 +0000 UTCThe update is basically done, but I'm just going through it trying to weed out any final bugs and strange behaviours and anything I missed or could polish. I'm not fooling myself, there'll no doubt still be a ton of stuff that slips through the cracks - just now I realized there was still a whole inventory call missing, where Heather gives you the remaining parts of your outfit, in advance of the games, after you help her retrieve her phone, which i'd pencilled in to do later then forgotten about!
I also fixed - thanks to a comment in the last test build - a flat-out error in the code that stopped her scene from progressing after the dance practice, most likely thanks to my cat taking a walk on the keyboard (which she loves to do), while I wasn't looking!
I just wanna add in a couple final things too: like a (cheat) exam paper that you can buy from the drug dealer on campus, and some posters advertising the games that appear on Week 4 in the dorm corridor ... I'm hoping to get all this done in the next few days and get the public build out, then immediately push on with 0.5.6 - which i'm seeing as the conclusion to the "main" storyline, at least the Girl Games competition itself.
I'm not kidding myself, there's still a ton to do after that too! But it's a milestone of sorts! The more into the weeds I get with the game, the more I'm thinking certain things need finessing too - the player data structure could do with some work, better inventory calls, some UI tweaks, and the sex game mechanics could do with some looking over and finessing/refactoring too. If I think too long and hard about it, it almost amounts to the whole damn game getting another overhaul, but I'm committed to an iterative process, vs the "scrap it and start again" technique I applied back in my Twine to Renpy to Godot days!
So instead, once 0.5.6 is wrapped up, I figure the best thing to do is just keep pushing on, adding more content, but also finessing one major aspect with each subsequent build. Maybe one will polish the UI, one will overhaul the sex game stuff, one will work on the inventory. And that way things will keep moving forward, and the game will keep improving!
Anyway, that's enough rambling for now - just figured I'd better drop in and keep you updated.

Hi, Loving the game so far. Any chance of a progression map or walkthrough? My last playthrough (0.5.4), I got stuck,but assumed that aas the end of the content. The devlogs indicate that there was a ton of content between where I stopped and the end of the 0.5.4 content.
