Still hard at work!
🕑 Added 2023-08-03 13:34:50 +0000 UTCJust checking in to let you all know how things are going and where I'm up to. I know I have a habit of going a little quiet until I have something to share, so in the meantime I figured it was better practice to drop some small updates.
Here's where I'm at ...
I've officially forked off the game project into 0.5.2 and added in a few little tweaks and made some bug fixes to the UI - stuff like being able to hit Escape to exit the various panels from the phone screen and fixing the issue some people had with Jennifer's "Yes mistress" text entry also setting off the quicksave function.
I've also - no thanks to the poll, where "Just get on with it" won out as the most voted for option! - turned my attention to the Sex Display stuff first of all. Truth be told, this thing has a propensity for getting out of hand, fast. Obviously I want a ton of options and replayability, and that's totally still the case, but there's also finding the balance between that and some unweildy behemoth. I looked over the old code I wrote last year and jeez.
So i've got back to the drawing board, and after a few 5am starts I've got something I'm pretty proud of and excited to share with you (hopefully not too long away, either, although I'm going to avoid making that mistake of promising a date and not hitting it). But yeah, this new version is streamlined, (hopefully) pretty intuitive to use, and still offers a lot of fun and options. I'd share some screenshots, but all the text is still placeholder and - because I've added some dynamic camera movement stuff too - static images won't quite do it justice!
You'll have to trust me on this one, but I'm having a lot of fun working on it so I have a good feeling I'll be done with it pretty soon. The plan (for 0.5.2) is to have it up and running in the following locations: Shady Alley - which will also unlock a new job at night (i'm sure you can guess where that's leading), the video booths in the Adult Bookstore, the Nightclub (well, that will unlock a one-night-stand, anyway), and Amy's bedroom.
I keep saying it, but eventually I want to have a ton of 'romanceable' NPCs, both randomly dotted around and also all the main characters in game. But I figure the best thing to do is start populating the main areas - i.e. Amy, 2-3 random guys in the alley, maybe 1 guy and 1 girl to start in the nightclub, and another 2-3 random cocks in the video booths - all for this update when it goes public, then add in a few more characters with each subsequent update after that.
That's my same plan for outfits going forward. This update coming will have all the 'core' outfits stocked in the shops, so like at least 2 options for most things. Then after that I can throw in extra fun one-offs.
And don't worry, once I have the main Sex Display code and functionality written, adding in a new character will be as simple as generating a naked image and writing out a data sheet for them, with their unique variables - likes, dislikes, kinks, etc, - so that it'll make each character you meet a (relatively) unique encounter!

Thank you so much! It's great to hear you're enjoying it - it's had a ton of negativity so far in forums so I'm glad you can see the potential!! And in answer to your question, yeah, absolutely. I put all my focus onto the campus in 0.5.1. I was on the fence about not even letting the bus run to the city, knowing I still had so much work left to do on the city locations. But don't worry, the stores will all be fully stocked by the time 0.5.2 is finished, including Amy's liquor!

Keep up the great work this game has lots of potential and I like where it is going so far! Will you be able to buy alcohol for Amy in the next release? I got stuck at the liquor store and there were no options to escape other than passing time to the evening and I could not purchase alcohol in the store.
