Monthly Update
🕑 Added 2021-04-30 20:37:39 +0000 UTCHey kids, it's that time again ... where I tell you that I'm pausing billing for another month. But you all knew that was coming right? If I learnt one thing from the previous iterations of Girl Games, it was that hurrying this thing and putting out a version when it wasn't totally ready just comes back to bite me in the ass!
So this time around I wanna get everything perfect - and as I keep saying, I'm not even going to share a private demo of the game this time around until I have at least one complete storyline plotted and written and up and running ...
All that said, I've been making some good progress this month. I've been working with a 'plugin' for Godot called Dialogic (here's a video about what it can do), which is basically it's somewhere between Twine and Ren'py and I'll be using it for all the dialogue and 'cut scene' stuff. So in other words, any time you have a conversation with Amy or Heather or Jennifer or whoever, it'll be Dialogic running behind the scenes. In other words, it means I can have things looking just as slick and snappy as the last Ren'py version, but with a few added extras too!
I also had something of a brainwave in terms of the way the game will play which will (hopefully!) make it more fun ... I might be building in a little more of a user-led quest system, instead of just a few bulky 'main events' every five in-game days or so. So Heather might give you a task or two, you go complete it, come back and get the next little piece of story drip-fed, meaning you can complete those in your own time and the game will feel more continuous, rather than the last verion(s), where basically you just had to click through three or four repetitive days before Heather would suddenly pop up again and whisk you away for pages of story. I hope this makes sense - and sounds fun to you too! Let me know your thoughts in the comments anyway!
So yeah, that's where I'm at. And please believe me when I say that nobody wants this damn game finished and out there to play more than I do!! I'm still working hard in my spare time, and I swear I'll have something for you to enjoy just as soon as I can!

I don't even know why exactly, but I've noticed a few new sign-ups and it's so so lovely and awesome to think there's people waiting for this game once it's ready to share! By the by, i love everything about the banner - the colors, the character images, the concise conceptualization, the promise of what's yet to be... Also, i have somewhere around 32 of your stories. Enjoyed 4 of those so much that they were added to the 'Purrfect Stories' collection of the Library. So happy to hear that you continue to pursue your vision and creation. Only wish you would allow us to support you more throughout your endeavors.

I looked at the video, and I realize I have no idea how you do any of this. Good luck, I look forward to what you can come up with, it sounds like you can do a lot with this. I like the quest system idea. Someday things will get back to normal and we can attend Feminae in person(sort of).
