Rupaul's Drag Race is Unwatchable

MTV advertises Rupaul's Drag Race as airing live every Friday at 8PM on cable, but only 36% of Americans still report subscribing to cable. And even if you do have cable, that doesn’t guarantee access to MTV unless you pay for the right package, which in many areas costs $40+ a month and requires a physical cable box. In 2026. Be serious. Virtual cable options like Philo ($33/month), Fubo ($55.99), or Hulu + Live TV ($82.99) are all listed as Drag Race watching options, but how is that affordable? Streaming should be the solution. 83% of Americans use streaming services, and MTV even promotes Paramount+ as an option. But the catch is, Season 18 isn’t available on Paramount+ at all and won’t be until after the season ends.

I use YouTube TV, it’s like cable. The only reason we have it is for my husband to watch all the sports and my once a year Drag Race, but it’s expeeensive!!! Definitely not worth it if you’re just trying to watch Drag Race

From the UK here, I remember back in 2015/16 struggling to find any way to watch the season 8 premier, using "perfectly legal" streaming sites and being jealous of the US and how easy it was to stream there. Now I use Wow presents plus and watch the show at 3am on a Saturday. Roles have fully reversed omg😂

This is the first year ever I am not buying it in any shape or form. I haven't connected with the Queen's in a while and I can see the rumways, elsewhere. I don't care for the drama. I would rather see the talent featured.

i got philo & you have to watch 30 minutes of ads to watch an episode… it was a waste of money. Now I just use a VPN and change the country & stream it on WOW

My mom has Dish Network and I get MTV through that, but if it wasn’t for her having satellite then I wouldn’t be able to watch it with the other streaming options I have
