Super late commenting, but my definition of love is loving the good and bad of the other person, THIS DOES NOT MEAN PUT UP WITH ABUSE OF ANY KIND! But rather loving that part of the person who makes you smile and laugh but also loving them when they fall short, none of us are perfect.. it also means loving yourself enough to know when enough is enough and not settling less than what you hold strong to morally. I was in a situation for 9 years emotionally, mentally and physically abusive.. my self esteem was low, I was broken, I hated who I saw in the mirror when I looked into it.. the ONLY blessings that came out of that situation was 3 beautiful children (2 boys and 1 girl) I promised myself I would heal so that I wouldn’t put me or my kids through that again but also heal so that I could truly open my heart up to the right person when the time comes.

Ike and Tina are in a trauma bond. He gave her a lot of affection in the beginning, then started criticizing her, started putting the blame on her when things didn't go right, gaslighting her smh it was hard for her kuz she knew what it felt like to have someone (her mom) abandon her so she didn't want to do that to Ike early on. Then when Lorraine dropped the kids of on him, she really couldn't leave kuz she remembered her own trauma.
