I can certainly understand that and I’ve tried to mitigate that as much as possible but unfortunately I’m somewhat at the mercy of my artist and co writer. For example, my latest short story colab with Breaker the Goat is finished except for some minor corrections/rewrites and I’ve been waiting on those updates for over a week and a half. That said, I can try to auto schedule some additional content as had been suggested here that is either already finished or if I start doing some captions with past commissions to keep something being posted more frequently even if it isn’t the primary content. Thanks for your comment Jay Cee. I appreciate your support and some valid criticism.

I am considering my subscription as well. Gaps between posts continue to grow. Post estimate windows are missed by large margins. Don’t get me wrong I love the work. Just has me taking a step back.

I really appreciate these thoughts. While I can’t actually afford to release comic pages more frequently without the financial support to actually create them It’s possible I might be able to add some lower quality content over the course of a month by converting some of my older non comic commissions into short caption stories. As a general rule I have allowed Leo to release pages on his socials several months after they release to the patreon so he has fresh content but I could possibly ask him to wait longer. Some interesting thoughts. Thanks @ninetailedfox

The main reason is going to be people who are looking to save money month to month by only subscribing for a short period of time to see what the new content is in between. Unfortunately there's not going to be a great ways to handle this outside of more content per month. Which I'm sure is frustrating considering you don't have a guarantee they'll stick around so you can afford to do that much work. A second option would be to release less content publicly and just provide a link instead to your patreon. A third option would be to come up with some low effort content you could put out on a regular basis, like weekly or every other week. It doesn't need to be as high quality as the comics or stories. More engagement can help but I don't think it will go as far as any of those.

I guess my primary concern is that I can’t accurately predict how much funding I have to pay for another comic page to be developed or story to be written so it makes managing the project that much harder. I’m usually paying for and producing content months in advance. I don’t make any money from this Patreon. Every cent goes to the comic artist and my co writer so I have to make sure there is enough to pay them what they are owed for their work. When people join and immediately cancel, I have to assume that they won’t be counted towards the next months paycheck for the artists and writers so I may have to shorten the story word count or cut back on how many pages I order of the comic to be finished.

I could certainly add a tip jar with no access I guess. I’d considered it in the past but I guess I just felt guilty taking someone’s money and giving them nothing in return.

I think it depends on what people are looking for. I'm not immune to this myself. Have you considered having a tip tier someone could drop to with no access to see if people convert to it from the lowest tier you have?

That’s a good insight. Perhaps more frequent engagement posts even if they aren’t the prime content would be helpful.

Some people are probably joining for a month to see the content and then unsubscribing. With only a few posts a month they may not see it as worth $7.50 a month and are waiting until it is worth that to subscribe. Patreon doesn't really do anything to prevent people from doing this. I think the bigger question is whether or not you think this is inappropriate.
