This is being left public for those who followed the tutorial and want the files I mentioned in that video.
The fire in Scribble Gen isn't the same method as this one, but it is much more versatile and easy to customize

These won't work in other programs, make sure you are using Blender.
The idea is that a shader based fire animation will render quickly and doesn't require any physics simulations, making it an especially good solution for background elements.
