On the way, we visited my cousin and nieces in Vienna. It was not my personal wish, it was the wish of my cousin (16-year-old Alyona, with whom I went on this trip). She wanted to see her brother and nieces, whom she had not seen since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. And I did not see them even longer.
I have never had a close relationship with my cousin and his daughters. I will say more, in childhood we were in constant fights and quarrels. So I did not expect any tenderness and pleasant memories from this meeting. And the fact that the nieces remembered me at all seemed like a fantasy to me. I saw them when they were very small.
In reality, everything was not as I thought. This one day that we all spent together became special for me). Sonya and Eva (my nieces) remembered me and were very happy to see me. We talked a lot, played, they gave us a tour of the city)) I looked at these girls, who are so open to the world, cheerful, full of love, freely expressing their emotions, and I couldn't be happier. For the first time in a long time, I thought about children... about my future children... about my future pregnancy... about my future motherhood. And I thought not with disgust 🤣 and not with fear. I know it will happen someday and I imagine this period to be very bright and filled with warmth and love.
Doesn't this mean that I have grown up?

Beautiful, tender story. I can tell you, judging on myself, that… we became grown up adults only after our parents pass away. Because then we have no choice. As long as they’re alive, we’re just somewhat serious.
