A little info about BDs (The "video game" that David was using in the start of the episode). They're not sims, per se. In Night City, it's super common to install a chip that records basically everything you do. In this world, there's a market for getting and selling these chips from Brain Dance (BD) editors. They will get these chips from people (dead or alive), edit them, and create an experience (usually sexual or violent) to sell to people so they can feel and experience it like they were actually there. So, David actually felt what it was like killing all those cops and what it felt like to die. That's why he felt like his brain was "buzzing". He was living through Noriss' actual last moments.

The english dub for Edgerunners gets recommended because it's pretty solid, and it fits the culture of the setting better. This is coming from someone who hates english dubs too.

btw is there any reason you're watching the english dub? it's only partially a bias from my side but japaneese voice acting is just top tier, they have a whole culture around it, it's also why you find some of the voices (like lucy's) annoying, because the voices just feel weird in general. so just a heads up to try the japaneese dub, even if you're gonna keep watching in english i'll still watch, simply because the show is so good

some background information, no spoilers. the show is set in the video game of cyberpunk 2077, so the show takes place in 2077. and just like in the game the whole city is basically controlled by the 2 biggest companies, arasaka and millitech (which we have not seen yet). the universe also has some of its own slang, like gonk and eddies

this anime is amazing… i played the cyberpunk game when it originally came out and gave it up due to all of the glitches and bugs. when i watched this show i fell in love and tried the game again. now cyberpunk 2077 is one of my favourite ever games
