🕑 Added 2022-12-10 10:27:16 +0000 UTCI finally got around to making an appointment with a psychologist.
I have always been proud of people who go to psychologists, because they seemed to me to be more balanced, adequate) and the very fact that a person understands that he has problems and is not afraid to ask for help from a specialist.
Perhaps in other countries, going to a psychologist is the norm, but in the post-Soviet space, for adults (over 50) it is something from the category of treatment in a mental hospital. Their opinion is that if you don't have suicidal thoughts, you don't see invisible things and you don't talk nonsense all the time, then you are healthy). You should go to a psychologist only in extreme cases, when you really need a psychiatrist and medical treatment. Due to the devaluation of mild psychological problems by adults (that is, our parents), it is very difficult for us to dare to go to the first session.
I knew that I needed the help of a specialist primarily because I was swallowing my "negative" emotions. And when the war started a couple of months later, I realized that there were too many of these unlived negative emotions inside me. I could probably release them on my own, but I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to cope emotionally and physically.
A very big thank you to one of my subscribers here, thanks to him I stopped being afraid to cry in public or in front of acquaintances and even with myself if I wanted to.
Everything is fine with me now, don't think anything bad) I feel great. And after the trip to Kyiv in October, I calmed down a little and found the strength to sort out my fears little by little, experience emotions and unblock blocks (or whatever it's called in psychology)). I am very interested in what will happen next, because in fact, during the two sessions I already had, we raised very serious topics (which bothered me) and many things opened my eyes.
