July 2025 Status Report
🕑 Added 2025-08-06 18:01:38 +0000 UTCSo as some of you may have realized, my estimate in the last status report for the update was a little bit wrong. This is mostly due to underestimating the amount of content I'd end up putting into Malicia. If you don't know who that is, don't worry about it! But her manner of speaking, as well as the variations needed for her introduction and interactions, ended up being quite a lot more involved than I initially expected. But there was also a lot of other work that went into finishing the update by the end of July, like most of the lewd trap events being designed and written up for Adventure Apartments, along with many more or less small details. Long update cycles like this certainly make things blur together a little bit for chronology haha.
But I hope everyone who played the update enjoyed it greatly! Even if it is a bit out of the ordinary for the game to have a series of puzzles like these.
Which, speaking of the puzzles, I've already heard quite a bit of feedback on them and will implement a number of tweaks to hopefully help alleviate confusion and frustrations with some of them. Mostly the one on floor 3. It can be difficulty to judge how hard some puzzles will actually be when you have perfect knowledge on them, so the feedback is very welcome!
In the long run, this will be a non-mandatory part of the Capital, as you'll only need so many stamps to proceed forward in the game... but it should still be as enjoyable as possible for people who do want to engage with it. Though there's no shame in brute-forcing it or looking up a guide either!
As for what's next, barring the need for a more immediate bug fix patch, v27.1 will likely have this update's fixes rolled into it, along with the aforementioned tweaks to the puzzles. I have a lot of options for what I could proceed with next, but I would like to start chipping away at setting up the Aphrodesia District now that the Heather intro and Starlight District are in game. But I'm not sure what I'll be able to jam into it yet, given v27.1 will likely have a shorter cycle of development in the wake of v27. So it might also just end up focused on assorted tune-ups and touch-ups. But I very much think both me and my editor are due for a break on the Adventure Apartments content end of things lol. And I'd like to get another of the generic enemies set up for the Aphrodesia District stamp preparations.
So I'll likely just see where the month takes me after bugfixing and other things are taken care of!

i love the Update so far, but the puzzle with the mailboxes and floors, im way too dumb for this :(
