Art for the Janudua section.
🕑 Added 2025-03-20 08:44:03 +0000 UTCHey guys, sorry about the long wait on the next section, I’ve still got to do a little more art for the first page in the section before I can post it, this art of two Kolaxan warriors in battle is for the second page in the Janudua character profile. The Janudua character profile will be similar to the Wizard character profile where we’ll learn more about the man and the events in Humanity Lost history that he was involved in.
It’s also 17 degrees today in England and it’s the first proper sunny day that we’ve had in months where I am, so I’m going to take today off and enjoy the nice weather instead of Saturday because it’s rainy and cold again then. I figured I’d post something to keep you going though, so here it is haha.
I was trying something different here with the art, similar to the piece that I did on Doggerland in the Wizard section, I didn’t do any holding lines for this piece, but instead went straight in with blocks of colour and added to that. I won’t carry on this style for the book itself however because it just takes far too much time. Either way, it was a fun experiment and I’m happy with the result!
You might remember this Kolaxan armour from volume one, it appears in the marker scene in issue 3 and again in the battle of Pelion later on in issue 3. The weapon is new however and I have included the concept art for that too.

I love Skiv too, but I kinda generally just really like all the chantauri characters 😅 I hope they end up alright 💀 Pelion felt like a gut punch after falling in love with it and their strange world.

Very interesting. I had always wondered how plasma weapons could be implemented in a realistic sense. Are the Kolaxans the only ones who use plasma weapons?

That guy in the back is Janudua, that’s how he got those scars! Kolaxans truly are terrifying in battle, they revel in it.

Thanks man! It’s meant to be a sort of plasma rifle, it uses a combination of gas and electricity for ammunition. That’s what the hose and the battery are going into the plasma rifle. I was reading online that plasma guns could be effective weapons, but the amount an individual soldier would have to carry to power it would render it unfeasible for humans, but a kolaxan is a walking tank so I figured they could have them.

Impressive as always lad. I am curious about the weapon the Kolaxans are carrying, are they similar to the laser weapons carried by the Conglomerate and Imperium or something more conventional like fire arms?

I only just read the first volume of Humanity Lost this past month, and was so delighted I immediately came to patreon. Oughrigadd and Uthipidus are my favorites (more of those two please!) and I love the Chantauri. These character and lore profiles really add a lot of context/background that make the universe feel lived in. I look forward to learning more about Janadua; he seems like quite the interesting mess LOL. Tysm for all the hard work!
