Map of the Milky Way (updated).
🕑 Added 2025-01-17 12:42:57 +0000 UTCHere’s the updated map of the Milky Way. I’ve now got to tinker around with the KDP file and update the print version of Volume 1 so that I can replace the old map with the new one. Like I said before, if you’ve already bought volume 1 physically you’ll have an opportunity to own the updated map in volume 2 because I’m going to include it there also, you’ll basically just own a rare printed edition of volume 1. Once I’ve done that, I’ll get back to working on the infographics for the end pages of volume 2, shan’t be long!
Also, a few of the mods over on the discord server suggested running another art competition and they came up with a brilliant idea, the art prompt is going to be “draw an intelligent alien species that was made extinct by Deicide before he rebelled against the All-Mother”. Fun stuff, so if you want to partake in this friendly art competition, join the discord here: https://discord.gg/aQY8awpkcB and then tap on the #contest section of the discord to submit your design. Have fun and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I also just wanted to say, thank you so much for supporting my work here 🙏🏻

Welcome Greg! Sometimes a civilisation will stick to a certain set of artistic motifs to give a sense of cultural continuity across what are quite often distant regions. It gives members of that empire whom very often have little to no interaction with other worlds further away from their own a sense of kinship, belonging and community. Uniformity of design aids with keeping an empire together, the same is the case with the Kolaxans, their civilisational architectural style is always the same no matter where they are.

Hello, new here! Question: Why is everything that the Gord build pink and purple?

I’ve never played it but I know what you mean! I’ve always liked the look of map games like that and Crusader Kings, I’d love to give Crusader kings 3 a go but I just don’t know when I’ll have the time, especially not with my little girl being due to be born soon. The shield of the Galactic union are those three Womb-Worlds that Deicide and Fliegrigel control together. They act as a shield for the galactic union against the Imperium advance. Maybe they did, it’s certainly possible! That’s not on the cards, no. Yes, It’s Deicides plan to rebirth Humanity and as much of what existed before the All-mother if he succeeds.

Yes we will, I won’t spoil it here, but they’ll be playing a big part in an upcoming battle where we’ll get a really good look at their hyper advanced exo-suits in action. You’re right, we need to see more of them, they’re one of my favourites. Because of their enigmatic nature, they don’t tend to fit in with the other more similar species in the Conglomerate.

Thanks Mantarok!

No no, thank you!

Thanks for pointing that out, it’s much appreciated!

The map of the warzone reminds me of Hearts Of Iron IV. What is that thing called the Shield of the Galactic Union? Is it some sort of chokepoint that needs to be guarded? Did the U.E. make sapient pets or anything like that with bioengineering? If so, will we eventually get a story in the Humanity Lost universe that is basically a bunch of furries on a ship fleeing from the Imperium? Do you think Deicide has tried to recreate Earth animals with bioengineering?

So glad the second volumes almost done! It may be a bit early to ask, but I was wondering generally if we'll get to see the gord more in the next volume, given that they're one of the species we've seen the least this far and I find their existence really fascinating. Perhaps it makes sense though we haven't seen many around given their relationship with the conglomerate🤔
